hawthorne took a several year break afaik due to "real life" and hurricane Katrina. I mean, everyone could end up stronger but it seems he maybe hasn't hit his ceiling. I guess we'll see, though.

yeah but most of those guys you listed are on massive amounts of gym candy. Dan green is taking buttloads. How much can Hawthorne be on if he weighs 132. He is black he has dem GENEZ.

Here is a pretty good interview with Pozdeev. It's a little long and subtitled though.

NZ Powerlifting Nationals are going this week http://ustream.tv/channel/Canterbury-sports

Our team has three women lifting this session, Danielle, Carli/Carolina and Ritika. Kicks off in 30mins i think, but the stream is blocked at work.

That is some impressive lifting there. Surprised he did smaller jumps in the squat (5kg jumps) than he did in the bench (10kg, then 7.5 kg).

For anyone who competes in USPA this was just posted on facebook by the president of USPA. Awesome since i have slingshot knee and wrist wraps.

"Starting on November 1, 2014 Mark Bell and his slingshot products aren’t welcome in the USPA because of his unethical business practices. We have evidence that he actively campaigns against the USPA by making derogatory statements about officials and competitive gear manufacturers, persuades lifters to only compete in events that he coordinates, and doesn’t welcome lifters in his gym that don’t show him exclusive loyalty. This is all done with the intention of advancing his own agenda. The USPA doesn’t subscribe to these practices and will not support those who do."

Weasel: One of the guys up here was asking why they banned his products yesterday. Seems like they posted something yesterday and quickly removed it. He said it didn't have any reasons, just stated that his products are not to be used in USPA. Sucks that you have to buy new gear.

At first glance I thought they were saying that The Slingshot couldn't be used as a bench assistance tool in geared meets. Which gave me a hearty "LOL geared powerlifting" moment because I couldn't ****ing believe it would ever be legal.

Then my reading comprehension caught up.

I just found this on bb.com powerlifting section so it looks like there are conflicting reports now.

"So apparently Sling Shot products are allowed in USPA, but the lifter has to make sure they meet regulations. Guess there have been issues with people altering wraps to meet the rules, but then switching them out when they actually go to lift. "

I mean, I only met the guy once, but he seemed pretty down to earth and was helpful to our lifters. And he runs a free gym.

If KC isn't hating on him the man must be a saint, obv his products should be allowed.

One issue I heard was that the production quality control isn't that good. They are putting wraps out where some were of legal length and some were not legal length (both being sold as the legal length). Said they gave him warnings but nothing changed. This is way past second hand knowledge and may be total BS though.

PL Bros,

Figured you might have some good recs for someone plateau'ing on bench. I've been in the 190-205 5RM range for a while now.

Fwiw, 1RM is ~240.

I've watched SYTYCB a few times now, suppose I'm looking for more programming-related suggestions. Currently running Norton's PHAT and have been cutting (am down from 242 to 225). Will likely cut to 215 then bulk very slowly.

Thanks for the help!
