I'd like to know your opinions there, regarding performance only first of all, as well as for longevity of joints/ankles mainly, but also general health in the higher ages afterwards.

I heard, when lifting, some fat is good for the ankles and joints for some reason, but having massive overweight on the other hand also leads to a bigger weight that needs to be lifted every time, not to mention cholesterol or whatever other problems...
I'm thinking... 10-15%, based on set point and body structure maybe. Boring answer I know. But it's lean enough to not be wasteful with bodyweight, and fat enough to be healthy and make gains.

Bold relates partially to why I said your stance before was extreme. Powerlifting has weight classes. The super heavyweight is a very small part of the sport.

Yeah I kinda agree. I think my PT was just thinking of ROM issues and not the shear forces that would be present. Good reminder on the Zerchers, that could be a good one. I need to run some experiments on myself. ty.

Tough. There will be +/- 5% error here. But I'll throw out 13% (cuz abs). If he's flexing then maybe 16%.

High teens sounds right. Saw is getting better at this. Old saw would say 275 8%, perfect. Maintain.

Man that's some heavy dosin.

Also I would say optimal bodyfat percentage for powerlifting is 18-25%. There are some answers in the world records. The uberfat are not uberstrong. And the super ripped ain't exactly killing it unless they roided out of their minds.

Gibbs and candito look about right.

Matt Sohmer went 804/270/739. New American record squat. His ratio for his lifts are awesome.

I was very confused at first about those numbers, that's pretty hilarious.

Too many people go by "hulksmash" in the powerlifting world.

Do you think he could even grab the bar on those squats? Gotta admit, I've never seen no handed squats before...
