Yeah. Even for cheat meals I think it's a decent idea to avoid the worst offenders like too much of the very fatty meats, calorie content is off the charts. Not a huge deal if the weight loss keeps up though.

The chorizo I actually have a photo of

I didn't have a spoon so I left much of the sauce.

The pork belly really didn't look like that photo, it was more like pulled pork in texture, wish I could find a photo that does it justice.

Why don't you just weight it and calculate the kcal? It might save some anxiety (not sure if right word)

I'm not bringing a scale to a restaurant, weighing the plate, then reweighing it after I've eaten the meal. And I don't have any anxiety, I've eaten really well for almost two weeks and treated myself last night, the calories were guilt free ... I'm just curious.

for future reference: most places will tell you the amount of the main ingredients they put in a dish. you can eyeball the rest. Chicken Tikka in India, for instance, is almost always between 200-250g thigh cuts at every restaurant.

Ended up at ~2400. Walked a mile. Too many calories from eating empty and bad carbs. Still, below maintenance. Tomorrow I'm back on the horse, 2k maximum.

Ended up well above 2400

First real booboo so far but I'm not happy. 8 more days including today until my next treat. Plan to ace all of them. Otherwise the treat will taste guilty.

So far had shredded wheat for breakfast with lactose free milk. Had a bit of this last night and was ****ting diarrhoea this morning - this is after going a month without dairy and having a greatly improved digestive system - anyone experienced this? I'll just stick to soy milk.

Also had 350g beef heart (lean) with onions, garlic and some mashed potato (<100 kcal per 100g).

Doing OK calorie wise today but too many carbs. Planning a light salad for dinner, couple of peaches to snack.

Raw is 112kcal/100g. Do you weigh it raw or cooked?

The weight of the beef was on the package ... my comment was referring to the mashed potatoes.

Oh. How do you prepare the mashed potatoes? Most people use butter and milk or cream and it can get pretty high in calories. Use chicken stock and a bit of butter and it comes out much better calorie wise.

It was packaged. Not the dehydrated stuff but still kinda gross.

Found this photo from a wedding three years ago.

Would like to be twenty to twenty five pounds lighter on Nov 7 which means getting in to that shirt and jacket some time in August ... it will be tough.

One reason I think I'm finding this diet more mentally draining than others is that I have so far to go ... it's weird to think you might need 10 really disciplined weeks to look like ^^^ then another ten weeks to get to 'fatass' ... another 10 weeks to get to 'normal' ... 10 more for 'in shape' ... 10 more for ooh la la ... that's all assuming no breaks in the diet.

Guys who weigh 350 lbs, it's all that times two, how disconcerting is it to think you could diet and exercise well for 6 months and you'd still be enormous? Definitely understand not even starting in that situation. And props to YTF for getting his ass in gear.

eat more.
getting down to a normal weight should never involve feeling like starving. unnecessary pain and receipt for disaster.
learn how to eat properly (fit treats in regularly)and be happy with 3-4lbs/month while enjoying life(if done properly you barely even notice that you are dieting)

this isn't a race, nobody will care or even notice 5lbs more or less when you are meeting up with your old friends.

I think it's more mental exhaustion that anything. For example a few weeks ago I went in to a charity shop to stock up on some clothes, bought an XL and an XXL lightweight sweater ... the XL is skintight so I'm not wearing it and the XXL just about fits. I've never worn XXL before. And the 40 inch jeans that don't fit either! It's depressing!

I'm very anxious to get to a couple of months from now when I'll be at a weight I'm more familiar with. And when I'll be that much nearer the finishing line.

Today I ate fantastically. If I keep this up for the next 7 weeks I'll look way better. And I'm expecting noticeable results in terms of clothes fitting, pregnancy reducing etc. in about three weeks. That will make me happy.

Days without crisps: thirteen.

Party, I am also trying to lose 15-20lb but by Oct 7th deadline. I too have a wedding to attend around that time and although I would have been cutting regardless, targets like that make the daily grind of low calories much easier to bear.

20-25lb by November looks doable

Following this, I've recently cut my diet right down plus cut back on booze. I'm just to lazy to exercise, I guess you need both for it too work.

Sensei I need to get down to my weight in that photo and then lose 20 to 25 lbs. Far from easy. I've thought about it some more & I'd be happy to be 10 lbs lighter. 20 to 25 would be great but 10 would still be a fine achievement & I'm not going to beat myself up if I achieve it.

Another solid day calorie wise although could have eaten cleaner. Ate some beef heart and bought some more beef and lamb heart. Amazing meat.

Haven't exercised in a couple of days, planning to fix that tomorrow.

Days without crisps: fourteen.

One good and very filling snack I eat sometimes is raw almonds with 100% peanut peanut butter (can get at Whole Foods and other places, make sure ingredients say 100% peanuts). Not the most healthy thing, but it's much better than junk food. The peanut butter takes getting used to, but now I feel like regular peanut butter is gross.

I would just pound 100g of that in one go ... best not to have it around the house

For diet purposes, nuts are completely awful. Healthy fat doesn't matter, that **** is loaded with calories and soooo easy to eat a ton of them.

How is it much better than junk food?

Why not just grind the nuts yourself? Makes delicious nut butter without the markup.
