Figured I'd skip the 1RM test and begin a new cycle with 185 kilos as the goal instead..
I mean, what's the point, 180 wouldn't even be a new PR, just a tie.

Welp, goddamnit. Felt a twinge in my lowback, left side, during the rep 6.
Finished the rep but had to take a knee afterwards and then had trouble standing back up again.
Once I did get up, I GTFO'd immediately. Even left the plates on the bar.

Pretty sure my lowback was overextended. Just hoping I didn't blow a disc.

Injury @ 120 kg....jesus.
Pretty sure this a facet joint issue. Or a pulled lowback muscle.

It took me about 20 minutes (@ RPE 10) to get from bed to bathroom this morning...and I got very close to blacking out twice during the journey.

Yes, my lower back was a total mess back in 2010-2013 or so; a ****ed-up disc causing all sorts of issues.
I've suffered a couple more minor back injuries since then but never nothing low-back related again.

IIRC both minor injuries were (I presume) facet joint issues in and around mid-/upperback region and it took me about a week after the fact to get back to normal.

It certainly feels like this is same **** but this time around located somewhere around lower back.

Anyway, I did eventually got up from the bathroom floor and can now walk around like a norwegian sewage rape victim. Slowly and gingerly.
Good stuff.

What baffles me is the almost fainting part. Literally would have blacked out had I not taken the knee. Twice.
Oh, well.

I never felt like I was going to faint but I was sweating even though it was cold and felt like I could collapse at anytime.

I still don't know what it really is. It hurts to drive or fly. I have lumbar facet joint arthrosis on both sides, degenerative disks at L5-L6 and a small disk herniation at L5-L6. Also spinal stenosis. Plus a tumor at L2 (benign).

It sounds much worse than it is, we will see what the doctors says.

What is scary about yours is that it was a babyweight deadlift at 120kg. Mine was a babyweight paused squat rep at 90kg. And yeah yeah people can question my form, even though paused squats are pretty hard to fack up. But your deadlift is pretty much perfect, especially at 120kg. That Kobe Bryant routine cut was also perfect (ruptured Achilles though).

After taking two weeks completely off and spending another two weeks rebuildin' I'm getting back close to where I was pre-injury as far as strength is concerned.

I'm certainly fatter, though. Diet's been not great. A whole sleeve of cookies has pretty much become a nightly staple etcetc.
Oh, well. Time to cut soon.

Yeah, the dream is dead.

It doesn't appear to matter what the rate of weight gain is at this point, it's gonna be all fat anyway.

Time to get lean again soon and stay there forever.
