Lasagna will have to wait for a future Italian urge, though.
I did, however, turn the meatballs and tomatosauce (about 1.5 kg of each) into a quasi-lasagana (well, a casserole of sorts, anyway) by combining them in an oven dish, adding a layer of ciabatta crumbs and a layer of mozzarella, and sticking the whole thing under the broiler for a while.
Turned out pretty good overall IMO, but the breadcrumbs soaked in tasty sauce & meat juices and covered in gooey mozzarella are just the ticket.
Doubled the tomatosauce recipe FWIW, to have a bunch of leftover for
tortilla pizzas.
Already made the 1st batch yesterday, for PWO. Not bad, not bad at all.
Plan is to basically live on them this week.
