3.2.2015

Excuses, excuses - slept too little the last couple of nights plus was pressed for time - got home from work around 5 and we had people coming over at 7.
So yeah, not the greatest basis in the world for a 1RM session being tired going in plus having to rush it a bit with warmups and rest times to get all the work in.

Yadayadayada.

A solid session all thing considered though - the first time ever hitting both 3-digit kilo bench and squat.

Bench
10x20 kg
8x40 kg
5x60 kg
3x70 kg
1x80 kg
1x90 kg
----------------------
1x100 kg

Ezpz.
But not really, felt way heavier than what I expected and my form broke down like a little girl but whatever.

Front-Squat
5xBW
5x20 kg
5x40 kg
3x60 kg
1x70 kg
1x80 kg
1x90 kg
----------------------
1x100 kg

Ezpz.
But not really, pleasantly surprised that I actually showed some WIM towards squatting for a change and grinded it out.

CGBP
3x7x75 kg

BB-Bent-Over-Row
2x10x67.5 kg
1x8x67.5 kg (Pendlay Row)

Last set Pendlays because wanted to give them another go.
In the end I think I like them better and will be doing them next time and onwards.

Weighted Planks
1x5x10s @ +30 kg

BB-Curls
2x12x40 kg

WTF

One of the last bastions of hope for the tiny brotherhood on 2+2 has lost himself to the nomzies. Come back my brother. Don't give in to S&F. Fight the power.

In all seriousness, keep up the good work my friend. I've got one bucket list item to check off the list before I get to do the same thing. Maybe late summer I can start.

nice work pummi! 100kg front squat is legit!

Thanks, guise!

The road to two wheels was a long and bumpy one, happy to finally get over that hump.

__w__,

Ain't nuttin' to it but to do it.
I'll be a proud member of the tinybro tribe again very soon, don't worry.
Back on the cutting train starting next week.

SS,

Mindfckr putting out hundreds of gunners-related posts but no updates in his log, Mr Garlic been AWOL since god knows when and Nick apparently only "probably put on some weight" during his Asia tour (bug-diet FTL) so I guess I won comfortably.

Nice work dude! Looking forward to the DL results, you're getting decently strong in that lift

Thanks, soulbro.

Long arms are dope for DLing.

That said, lol at strength standards and all but as far as they go, I'm pretty sure my Press>DL>Bench>Squat.

ETA: http://www.strstd.com/
Yeah, would need a 194 kg DL to be advanced @ 80 kg BW.
Never going to happen. Maaaaaybe in 2020 after banging my head against a brick wall with intermediate brogramming for years.
OTOH only a 72 kg press required for advanced @ 80.
That is not completely beyond the realms of possibility I don't think.

ETA2:
A 100 kilo squat barely breaks into the novice territory...
O well, at least I'm not untrained in that lift no more.

Hm true, easier to overlook press. 70 kg is legit. Ime 1RM calc for the press is way optimistic if you bounce at the bottom though.

No need to dis yourself over the squat though, you've had issues. You can prob add 15-20% since you're front squatting to make yourself feel better

Haha, I wouldn't count Garlic out just yet, no posts in his log means the chance he's reverted to his 2kg-candy-a-day diet has skyrocketed.

Good job on the PRs and GL getting out of fatville

Thanks, Nick.
Cutting off fat is easy. Holding on to muscle and strength will be the tricky part.

You're right, Garlic could very well be 120 kgs and counting by now.
Bumped the man's log so maybe we'll find out.

SM,

Yeah, 72 is fairly optimistic and maybe 70, as well.
4x63 translates to 69 1RM and the 1st rep is indeed typically the toughest one as you have to start from a dead stop.
We'll see.

The thing with the squat is I'm not sure I could even backsquat my frontsquat, if I were to try.

OHP - 1RM testing
10x20 kg
5x27.5 kg
3x40 kg
2x52.5 kg
1x62.5 kg
------------------------
1x70 kg
1x72.5 kg
Fx75 kg

Yay.
In the end both 70 and 72.5 were never-in-doubt-kinda passes but 75 wasn't even particularly close - simply no gas left at that point.
I think I prefer the semi-minimalistic WU I did today over the Tuesday's more extensive WU's.
Less is more IMO, especially when operating with limited time to be used for resting between sets.

Weighted Chins
2x6 @ +15 kg
8 @ +5 kg

DB-OHP

Side-Planks

75k press would have tied my PR. So sad you didn't get it, you little fat shiet.

You got 170k deadlift? That beats me no problem. Don't care.

5'9" 180? I am gonna congratulate you on your lifts, but damn you let yourself go. Even Rip might be telling you to pull the reigns in a little at this point.

I think it only fair you provide us some nudes

After a good night's sleep (those have been hard to come by lately) and no pre-exhausting I think I'm good for 75k.
But that can wait till my BW is <75 again.

Not yet. DL will be tested on Saturday.
165 isn't a lock, let alone 170.
We shall see.

Spoiler:

Rip would have me on 2 gallons of milk a day for another year or two.

There you go:
(WARNING, too fat to provoke unsolicited compliments from middle-aged thai massagers):

Spoiler:

Probably up 3-5 kilos of LBM and 5-7 kilos of bodyfat since I was 70.
Fat as fcuk, cutcutcut.

BW is the limit. Anything above that is a product of natural freakness and/or j00cing.

Facing a mirror adds 5+ kilos to one's press. SCIENCE.
The opposite is true for squats.
It's not a big deal at all with press, the weight is in front of you plus it's never that heavy.

I'm tempted as word on the street is that fat will cultivate itself into muscle when given enough time.
Butnaaah.
Time to cut to 73-75 kg and then use a year or two to slowbulk back to 80-ish.

Having my test-levels checked out, will have the results by Wed next week.

73 kg? Still fat. Down to 70 you go fatty. That being said, holy **** at the difference between that pic and themachinist.jpg from a while back. What would you have done differently when doing this bulk?

Nice work on the press. Don't think I would have even bothered trying 75.

We shall see. Not going to try and get super-lean or anything.
Hoping to be ~12-13% BF at ~73 kg before 1st of June.
17 weeks to go, thinking -500 kcal deficit to start and gradually decreasing it to -400 and then -300 as I progress.

Well, going from 60 to 80 is quite a difference.

~300 kcals surplus instead of ~500.
Gained un unnecessary amount of BF, but it's okay, just need to cut for a month or two longer now.

7.2.2015

Todays excuse - made the newbiemistake of ejaculating in too close proximity of my gym session, like 30 mins prior.
Not smart but in my defense I hadn't busted a nut in 3 days so not gonna say no when asked for the D.
Seriously think it cost me 170 though but it is what it is.

Deadlift 1RM testing
5x60 kg
3x100 kg
2x115 kg
1x132.5 kg (hookgrip)
1x147.5 kg (hookgrip + belt)
-----------------------
1x165 kg (hookgrip + belt)
Fx170 kg (hookgrip + belt)

165:

170 just wouldn't move.
In hindsight maybe shoulda rest more than 5 minutes between attempts.

Bench
3x5x90 kg

Power-Shrugs
2x10x165 kg

Incline-Bench
3x7x70 kg

Ab-Wheel
2x10

BB-Curls
2x12x40 kg

Now off to watch El Derbi madrileño and eat all the calories.

Something isn't adding up. Looking at those nudes I would guess 160 pounds max, and yet you are claiming 175+? I was honestly expecting your body composition to look like me or Snitch. I am only 2 inches and 10 pounds more than you, and I am fat.

We might need to see some sort of lower body shot. Maybe you do have a huge ass? But right now things just arent adding up.

On my phone he looks pretty fat. His belly looks it's was layered by cottage cheese. His pecs are getting droopy. Just disaster if any more weight is added.
