Re: Old log, moobs present
Isnt the area where the pec & bicep meet in the front part of the shoulder? That area is affected by pec, bicep, upper back & tricep adhesions. The thing is, a lot of pains are not caused by the areas where they hurt - they are due to adhesions in other areas.
The external rotation bias you speak of - my training partner has been working on that. He's doing well at keeping the elbows in lately. I had something like that too and was forced to get my elbows in if I wanted to keep benching due to issues in both shoulders. It took a while, but I broke some 15 year old PRs recently.

Re: Old log, moobs present
Snatch: 95x3x5, 115x3, 135x2, 145x1, 155x1, 165x1, 175xf, 175x1,180xCLARK
C+J: 135x1+2x2, 155x1+1, 175x1+1, 185x1+1, 195x1+1, 205x1+1, 220x1+1
Front Squat: 135x5, 185x1, 205x1, 225x1, 240x3
Wasn't planning on lifting today but was working with a client and felt good so decided to do some stuff. I'm pretty pleased considering I did near maximal set of 5 deadlifts yesterday. 0 soreness anywhere, lifted pretty well for the day after.

Re: Old log, moobs present
Late.. phone was giving me a hard time logging on. I like doing incline bench now, but for some reason, I find them extremely hard considering my flat bench and ohp. I'd do what cha said about finding what grip is most comfortable for you.

Re: Old log, moobs present
Snatch: 95x3x5, 115x2, 135x2, 145x1, 155x1, 165x1, 175x1 (first time I've gotten here with no misses for a while), 180xf, 180x1, 185xfx3, 185x1, 190xfx5. 155x2x5
Clean and Jerk: 95x3+3, 145x1+1, 165x1+1, 185x1+1, 205x1+1, 220x1+1, 230x1+1 ugly, prob turned down in comp, 230x1+1, 190x2+2x5 Missed 1 jerk from belt coming undone after clean
HBBS: 165x3, 215x1, 255x1, 275x1, 295x1, 305x1, 275x2x5 (otm)
About 60% of today's snatch misses were thrown behind, so at least I know I'm pulling high enough and dropping under fast enough, just unable to stabilize against the backward inertia of the barbell. On that note, had a good forearm day. Iced for seriously an hour yesterday while watching GAME OF THRONES season finale. Only the left one hurts now, right is "cured" I think.
Pretty good day. My skill/efficiency must have improved a lot lately, as I'm hitting similar sn/cj numbers as pre-injury but my squat daily 1rms are barely 90% of pre-injury daily 1rms. Gonna go hard this week and try to do volume sets on everything. Maaaayyyyybe able to hit a snatch/cj pr after my deload, but probably not squat pr.
bw is 192.5 in the morning so I think a bw snatch after a light week is almost in the bag, and not impossible to get this week. Then I can eat an entire tub of hagen dasz while watching soap operas. Seems to work in gaining weight for women!

Re: Old log, moobs present
Cry me a river beasto... I've had forearm problems on my snatches for like 10 months now. Wrist pain is usually much easier to fix. Ask Kstarr.

I was annihilated after yesterday. Tried to be positive going in today, but just didn't have any will left. Elected not to snatch, just pressing down on my left forearm with my right hand hurt.Training in perpetual fatigue is hard sometimes.

Re: Old log, moobs present
Felt like I'd been run over by a truck. Very stiff and mentally tired/all time low WIM.
Snatch: 95x3x3, 115x2, 135x2, 145x1, 155x1, 165x1, 175x1, 180xfbehind, 155x1+f forearms in excruciating pain, quit here.
C+J: 135x2+2, 155x1+1, 175x1+1, 185x1+1, 205x1+1, 220x1+1, 185x2+2, 190x2+2, 195x2+2, 200x2+2. Okay that went a lot better. 90% of daily max for a solid double, which is also a pr double(though I have done 200x1+3).
HBBS: 135x5, 185x3, 225x2, 250x1, 275x1, 295x1, 315x1, 275x5x2
Bench: 95x5, 135x4, 165x2, 185x5x3 tried to completely tucked position, felt actually harder on shoulders, but easy on pec tendon.
some tricepts and incline dbs and bull****.
Sad Emoken today frowning and being sad doing skwats.

Re: Old log, moobs present
Being sad is great. Its the only reason I made it through RFL without getting weaker and came out of it setting PRs. Embrace the sadness

Re: Old log, moobs present
Long Whine post ahead "You should have known better, tard":
I'm also pissed/sad about this training job. I love the hell out of actually working with clients, but my bosses and all the other pts are just such ****ing retards. Long TLDR story, we had a big meeting where the head honcho of the franchise chewed us all out for being clockpunchers and not getting results for clients. I know he wasn't talking about me, because I consistently spend 15-30 extra minutes with clients every session and all of them have gotten great results. However my bosses have still pigeonholed me into training "powerlifters" (rofl?).
I've probably made my disdain for powerlifting exceptionally clear on this board. They assume barbells=powerlifting in all cases despite frequent correction and clarification. I'm ****ing terrified of correcting people irl because I often come across as condescending. As a result, they refuse to give me any of the clients who sign up of their own accord and most of the people I'm working with, save 2, are people I've individually had to do the work of recruiting and then praying they can pay the gym's enormous fees.
It just hurts my soul to see awful trainers booked up with clients because they were born with d-cups and managed not to hit the wall hard by age 40 after 3 kids while I find myself barely scraping by. One of the trainers had a client who got smaller and increased bodyfat in a 4 week period despite coming in and training 2x/week. Trainer in question still has many more active clients than I do.
There was another trainer who trained clients very similar to the way I do. She had heard of Rippetoe/Lol McDonald and mostly stuck to barbells. She only had 3 clients after working there 6 months while the herp derp trx bosu ball lunges trainers had like 30, so she got pissed and left. Now that I think about it, every other trainer who squatted regularly got the **** out of this gym in a matter of weeks; there's only 1 other I'd consider remotely competent left.
I guess it will make my eventual departure for graduate school sweeter. I tried to fight the good fight and combat bro/hoe-science in the personal training industry, but I ****ing lost HARD. Not having to even think about this when I set foot in the gym would definitely increase WIM/staying positive.

Re: Old log, moobs present
You should have a hudge confrontation with all the retards when it's time to quit imo. It won't help ldo, but calling retards retards might be good for your emo soul.

Re: Old log, moobs present
@SM No, I just vent on the internets. I'm super confrontation-averse irl, probably to a detrimental extent. I'm looking for other jobs realizing there's not a chance I'll be making a satisfactory amount of money at this one. I've grown pretty close with all of my clients and I'll keep at it until I leave for their sake. I thought maybe people in the commercial gym/personal training industry were just haplessly ignorant of how well barbells work and how much of the population can successfully use them, but its more of a willful ignorance and active resistance in the face of glaring evidence to the contrary. I wasn't the first person to come here and have all of my clients on a linear progression barbell program, and those who came before me got the same treatment. Can't lead a horse to etc. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings even when I quit. I've given 2-4 weeks notice and shown up on time in the final weeks for every job I've ever had to leave.
Yesterday I went in and just squatted to an accidentally paused 295 and a miss at 320.
Today's workout was a mixed bag.
HBBS: 135x5, 185x3x2, 225x2, 250x1, 275x1, 300x1, 320x1,285x2x2
Snatch: up to 155x1, two fails at 165 one of which was CLARKED
C+J: up to 185 for 2 singles, felt like **** so just quit
Deadlift: 360x5
Pullups: bwx10x3 + a rest pause set of 10,4,3
DB Rows: 95x10x5 Getting better, didn't need much momentum/cheat.
Pulldownz and curlz
Grateful as **** for a deload. I plan on lifting for no more than 3 total hours next week and thinking about weightlifting/youtubing weightlifting as little as possible. Dark times, swelle brah.
