He wants to do volume instead of anything near his 1RM. 5/3/1 with BB is great for volume.

Do it for a month. Base new 1RM for next month off of last set on 3rd week (4th week is lighter). Repeat.

What about doing 3x8, or 4x10, and progressing that a la SS?

Also, even at only 33 years of age, my bladder definitely cannot hold what it could 10 years ago, presumably due to (hopefully) minor prostate hyperplasia (which starts the day you hit puberty and stops the day you die, or at least stop producing DHT)

The weird thing about going for so long (at least for me) is that it starts out fast and furious and ends pretty strong too, but there is this lull in the middle where the stream is pretty weak. Probably something to do with the pelvic muscles getting tired and relaxing a little before the home stretch push.
Anyone doing that kind of stuff ^^ will regret it later in life. I know this from experience.

In the end its more about compliance than rate of progression. 5/3/1 is more fun, fact.

Was watching an arm wrestling doc the other night (Pulling John) and it talked a bit bout "Over the Top" movie...such a classic. Anyways, that movie (OTT) got 5.1/10 on IMDB. Do they even nostalgia?

You can actually die from that. Water poisoning or something like that. Take your pee breaks folks.

Also 5/3/1 confirmed more fun than most programs. Did one week and made more progress than Country Roads' career.

Astronomer Tycho Brahe refused to get up from a banquet to go pee because he thought it was rude. Developed a bladder infection and died a few days later.

I have the opposite problem, it seems like I'm always the first to finish. I can't tell if it's because I have a tinybro bladder or a giant pee hole.

Is it just me or would PC with straps be really dangerous? Like if you miss you're snapping your wrists, no?

Yea prooobbaly not gonna Google that, but saw a dude at the gym PC with straps and was kinda wtf. To be fair he was sick at jacking his elbows up and he gave me a pretty sick cue (pretend you're revving a motorcycle with your wrists and the elbows will follow).

So I was tellin my buddy today, I have been kinda wanting to try some new whiskeys, but my current method of just buying a bottle and hoping for the best seems suboptimal. He mentioned something along the lines of the local 'Irish' bar has +100 different whiskeys so we could just go there and sample a bunch.

That sounded swell so we went there and tried some. I tried:

Michael Collins single malt irish whiskey
Tyrconnel single malt irish whiskey
Knappogue Castle single malt irish whiskey

The first two were really, really good. I haven't tried a lot of irish whiskey and really enjoyed them. The last one was decent, though I didn't fall in love or anything.

I also picked up a bottle of Auchentoshan and am sampling it right now. It is also quite tasty.

I'm sure there are tons of web pages for you to use as a resource. In addition to my private list, I use a couple of Browegian web pages to research whenever I'm not sure what to buy. I've found that I agree with most of their reviews, so it's a solid method. Great way to find new stuff to try. I basically never go buy alcohol without knowing what I'm getting. That is, I'll usually pick up something else in addition....#semi-functioning alcoholic

I'm a whiskey fish, but I think Ralfy is an awesome reviewer: http://www.youtube.com/user/ralfystuff

The frame in the top-left of that video is just too good.

Actually, the whole video is just too good.
Awesome, lol.

I don't know too much about Irish Whiskey, but Tyrconnell is a bottle I've bought a couple of times and iirc it was mentioned to me by a friend as a good intro bottle that most people would enjoy. Good stuff.
