Train fasted, no problem.

I take BCAAs pre/during workout recently, fasted or not... mTOR something something(?). It's been a while since I convinced myself of the upside, I don't really remember but I'm guessing if you google it you'd find the info. Basically, I see no downside and it's relatively tasty pre/during workout.

lol ... there are a lot of reasonable questions in the world but that is not one of them ...

after buying SS & Practical Programming and reading them both front to back it was appalling obvious my form on everything was dog**** and if I cared about myself at all I would start over from scratch... so that is what I did... as stated in the book itself, it is harder to unprogram bull**** thinking and movement pattern conditioning, so it has taken about 8 months, better part of this last year, but it was the appropriate decision ...

back feels a ton better, shoulders are finally healing and not constantly injured from awful form, I can bench and press appropriately for the first time ever and I understand now not only how to properly execute cleans but why ... so basically revisiting noob gains all over because I'm not destroying myself with bad equation variable inputs from the outset ... not coincidentally, proper equipment helps significantly, bought a 10mm inzer belt and it is just as incredible as the shoes for overall stability on every lift if not more so...

also I frankly love the short linear progression cycle and I will probably microload to squeeze the last bit out of it before switching to a periodized program... I have not exhausted novice status as of yet, at that point I will add complexity through accessory work and periodization of the main compounds... probably in two or three weeks...

Quote from my buddy who has gone full rippitard. He's been lifting for like six years. My original question was why he was doing SS

Bros,

Got a weird issue. Sometimes when I do a hard set, the air in my left ear will compress. You know like when you hear your breathing and you need to pop your ears to fix it. It would go away after a few minutes, but lately, it's been happening a lot more throughout the day. Kind of annoying, and I have no idea what to do about it. Popping my ears doesn't work.

The air from you head is leaking into your ear then out into the atmosphere when you pop your ears. Eventually the pressure outside your skull will sufficiently exceed the pressure inside your skull causing your head to collapse in on itself in a gruesome spectacle. I recommend avoiding high pressure activities like deep sea diving to extend your life expectancy.

Bought a couple of henley's, nothing fancy but seemed alright. Had a hell of a task finding work trousers with this stupid skinny trend.
did you see cailer woolam's pull from a week or two ago? one of the most impressive deadlifts I've ever seen. 915 lbs at 210lbs BW without straps. not at an official meet but still amazing and hes only 22 yo

I'm assuming you've prescribed him concurrently run full Smolov for bench, squat, and deadlift STAT?

Wonder how much you get out of a whippy bar like that (not trying to take away, just curious)

Depends on the numbers/what his form looks like/what his goals are etc etc. Once people have an idea in their head, its hard to shift them. I see people at our gym wasting time making changes all the time. I try to have a conversation but at some point people gonna people.

Interesting!

I saw something on facebook recently about a longer study that had looked at CICO model vs Taube's insulin/carb model. Apparently Taubes part funded it but the conclusion was that, when caloric intake is balanced between groups, there was no significant differences between high and low carb groups. Can't find it at the moment though.

I figured we all knew that already.

Leptin isn't really new.

SSC can be pretty good but that article is a bit infuriating.
