Re: New name, new routine...

LISTEN LIONEL, I KNOW THAT YOU'RE HOLDING BACK ON ME OKAY!?

Light Day:

Front Squat: 172.5x5 for 2 sets
Row: 150x5 for 2 sets
RDL: 225xs5 for 2 sets
Standing Military Press: 100x5 for 2 sets

My knee isn't feeling very good. I've been doing some foam rolling on my IT band and other areas around the leg so I'm hoping that it's not a big problem and that the pain is just due to tightness in the muscles.

Re: New name, new routine...

4000 cals yesterday

Heavy Day:

Front Squat: 230x5 - Tough as hell. Probably a 9/10 on difficulty
RDL: 300x5 - Pretty easy
Bench: 227x5 - Easier than last week.
Pendlay Row: 200x5 - Form is getting loose imo

My left knee is getting really ****ed up. I'm gonna see my family doctor and see if he can recommend me a good physiotherapist.

Re: New name, new routine...

Have you considered backing off on the weight until your knee feels better? Are you icing it too?

hello friend,

I don't know what's going on right now. My dad is a yard maintenance guy and I've been helping him mow the lawn for ~15 hrs a week. The knee pain has basically started ever since I started helping him - although this is confounded with me starting this lifting program around the time I started helping him.

Recently (especially today) when I've been mowing lawns, there is pain here:

It's basically a tight pulling pain with every step I take.

Then after the lawn mowing, if I try to squat down, I get pain here:

The pain is a tight, pulling pain as well. I also get a bit of knee pain right above the knee cap.

It's weird because that pain in the 2nd pic only occurs when I squat down really low and make my legs really tight. If i descend down and place more of my weight on my hammies, there's no pain. Also, the pain is better after I squat

Anyone have any ideas what this is?

Ya I was looking into that and it's definitely a possibility. However, that doesn't explain the tight pain that occurs in the back of the leg/quad area that is around the area of knee pain. I think that maybe there's some sort of strain or tightness in the muscles around that area is it's pulling everything out of whack. I mean, I just did a heavy squatting session tonight and now I can bend down and squat etc without any tightness/pain.

I want to go see a doc/physio about this but a lot of the time, they're really retarded and will tell me that squats are bad etc. I'm hoping to find someone who actually lifts so I can get a better diagnosis.

Re: New name, new routine...

Almost all doctors will give you an unsatisfactory answer about this since it doesn't seem serious enough to warrant an MRI. They'll tell you RICE and back off the squats temporarily (which is basically what I'm telling you, too). Try to find a reputable sports injury doctor if you do go that route.
