Pullups are a mystery that alludes me, too, who cares though 260 bench. Is there a reason you're doing DL for 3x5 instead of 1x5 like the other cool kids?

Also, I don't think I ever congratulated you on twins, that's really, really cool.

Thanks! Should be any day now, just finished 35 weeks and she is the size of a house.

DL is a typo, just one work set there.

I was up to doing weighted chin ups with 15 to 20 lbs, or 12 or 13 unweighted ones in a row back when I was GTGing them and doing them in my workout. It just means there's more to work on with my pulling exercises I guess.

I am pretty psyched about my bench, though. Haven't done a 1RM in a while but I've got to be around 3 plates now, which would be cool to get back to. 330 is my all time PR so I have some more work to get back there for sure.

Thanks! Sleep thing will be tough relatively soon but I'm on top of everything now.

That video was awesome.

If you're doing a single set of 5 on the DL and they're easy, at that weight, with that squat, you have no excuse not to be adding at least 10 lbs imo

On my DL? I add ten pounds every time and DL every other workout. I definitely have a lot more room to grow in DL than I do in the squat, but just taking it slow to ensure my form remains OK.

Lol easy mistake to make, they're all about the same right now

Hopefully that's not the case for very much longer, at least I'm at the point where my lower body lifts aren't embarrassing anymore.

I feel pretty confident I can get to 315 working sets on my DL relatively quickly.

6/25

Squeezed this in before the doctor's appointment:

Squat
wu+3x5x275
Pretty hard, but I think 280 is doable.

Press
wu+5/3/4x147.5

Just a cluster**** of weakness and lack of WIM.

DL
wu+1x5x280

Decided to go up 15 instead of 10, weakest part is the grip so will start bringing chalk.

Also the wife is now in labor; good times. Goodbye sleep!

Wow GL with the kids man! Very cool. Hopefully when things settle down you can manage to OHP more than the pink and blue dumbbells.

Gotta appreciate someone getting their workout + log post in while their wife goes into labor! Sounds like you have plenty of WIM to me. Good luck!

After 27 hours of labor, the doctor threw in the towel and the babies came via c-section. Everything went fine, and Nathaniel Joseph (5 lbs 5 ozs) arrived first, followed literally seconds later by Alexander Dale (5 lbs 14 ozs). The babies are resting comfortably in the nursery, and under observation as they were a bit premature for twins (36 weeks), and the wifeacore is resting comfortably in bed. Hopefully we can get them both on GOBMAD shortly; they have long limbs and big feet so they are definitely my boys.

Thanks for all if the well wishes!

27 hours of labor? Wowowow.

Glad to hear it wasn't longer than 27. wifeacore didn't throw in the towel sooner? Goodness, if she ever does do SS she's going to wreck it.

Oh, and congrats ldo.

Update:

Boys are both doing great, one should be home at the end of the week, and the other should be home soon after. However, the Wifeacore had some life-threatening complications arise from the aftermath of the pregnancy that were quite close to not being caught in time. She is on the mend and already doing much better, but the degree of recovery is still uncertain; although a significant fraction of patients do recover fully, it is still too early to tell. Needless to say I haven't been near a gym since before the births, as I've been sleeping in uncomfortable hospital room couches and chairs for the last week and change, and splitting time between my wife and the boys.

I hope to return to the gym in the next week or so, as I think it will help me work through some of the stress associated with these recent events. Hopefully this wasn't too much of a downer, but it helps to talk about it.

Wow, it's great that the babycores are doing ok but I really hope Wifeacore recovers fully. Definitely sounds scary.

Congrats so far and gl to your wife man. You can have any of my July rungood if that will help.

Sorry to hear about the complications, it's the scariest thing in the world to have the woman you love in pain/hurting while you can only just sit there and try to comfort her. Glad to hear everyone is doing better. Congrats to you and your new family.
