Re: Montecore takes SS by the throat
Thanks Yugo, I'll give that a try -- I really try to shove my hips and butt back on the downward part of the motion, but there's only so much I can do because I've got pretty long legs. I'll see how it goes on Monday.

Well, I could give you real advice and not imaginary advice if you would post real videos instead of imaginary ones, .

Re: Montecore takes SS by the throat
They're coming, I don't have any way to shoot them when I'm working out solo and my workout partner has been AWOL for like a month.

Re: Montecore takes SS by the throat
6/22
Squat
wu+3x5x270 -- Grinding
Bench
wu+ 3x5x260 -- Grinding
Chins
6/5/4 x bw + 0
Good lord have I deteriorated on these, this was embarrassing. Need to find a chinning bar that will fit the molding in the new place, because this isn't cutting it.
Face pulls
3x15x17.5
I remember in another thread someone was talking about "when the weight got hard" being what caused a lot of people to quit, and what separates the men from the boys. Squat, bench, and press are hard; I will not be quitting. I will earn my resets through failure.

^^^^^ push through it! Make sure you're getting enough sleep and recovering enough between workouts. Also get enough rest in between really heavy sets. Obv eat enough brotein and cals, too.
Light weight, baby!

Re: Montecore takes SS by the throat
Pullups are a mystery that alludes me, too, who cares though 260 bench. Is there a reason you're doing DL for 3x5 instead of 1x5 like the other cool kids?
Also, I don't think I ever congratulated you on twins, that's really, really cool.

Thanks! Should be any day now, just finished 35 weeks and she is the size of a house.
DL is a typo, just one work set there.
I was up to doing weighted chin ups with 15 to 20 lbs, or 12 or 13 unweighted ones in a row back when I was GTGing them and doing them in my workout. It just means there's more to work on with my pulling exercises I guess.
I am pretty psyched about my bench, though. Haven't done a 1RM in a while but I've got to be around 3 plates now, which would be cool to get back to. 330 is my all time PR so I have some more work to get back there for sure.

Thanks! Sleep thing will be tough relatively soon but I'm on top of everything now.
That video was awesome.

Re: Montecore takes SS by the throat
If you're doing a single set of 5 on the DL and they're easy, at that weight, with that squat, you have no excuse not to be adding at least 10 lbs imo

On my DL? I add ten pounds every time and DL every other workout. I definitely have a lot more room to grow in DL than I do in the squat, but just taking it slow to ensure my form remains OK.

Re: Montecore takes SS by the throat
Lol easy mistake to make, they're all about the same right now
Hopefully that's not the case for very much longer, at least I'm at the point where my lower body lifts aren't embarrassing anymore.
I feel pretty confident I can get to 315 working sets on my DL relatively quickly.

6/25
Squeezed this in before the doctor's appointment:
Squat
wu+3x5x275
Pretty hard, but I think 280 is doable.
Press
wu+5/3/4x147.5
Just a cluster**** of weakness and lack of WIM.
DL
wu+1x5x280
Decided to go up 15 instead of 10, weakest part is the grip so will start bringing chalk.
Also the wife is now in labor; good times. Goodbye sleep!

Re: Montecore takes SS by the throat
Wow GL with the kids man! Very cool. Hopefully when things settle down you can manage to OHP more than the pink and blue dumbbells.
