Owning a treadmill made me realize how badly I didn't want to exercise and how I had no excuse before. So yeah, it eliminated the reasons I couldn't exercise inasmuch as it proved that there was no reason I couldn't.

I didn't have a child and I won't presume to know what that's like. I think 90+% of people have the time to go to they gym if they want it enough. And anyway, she lives in Texas so that makes it even less worth it to own a treadmill. Year round decent weather and she'd just be walking. An avid runner in Vancouver needs a treadmill.

It never really gets cold enough in Vancouver that a serious runner wouldn't run almost year round outside. Most Canadian cities would have worked to make your point, but Vancouver isn't one of them.

I'm on #TeamHomeGym. I spent about 2K on mine and I lift 1-2x a week. Lifted 3+ times a week prior to kids. There is no way I'd get nearly as much lifting in if I didn't have it.

I thought it rained a lot there or something.

How do you guys stare awkwardly long at chicks at a home gym tho?

I mentioned this in my post before, but she would complain that she couldn't walk outside because of the Texas heat in her OOT thread.

It does in terms of frequency, but rain in the Pacific Northwest is more of a minor annoyance than something that soaks you to the bone, which is why it never shows up very high on annual rainfall lists that measure in inches. Having lived my first 2+ decades just south of Vancouver on the US side, I never regarded rain as much of an excuse to stay inside.

Dinner date w face cupper?
12-03-2016 , 11:19 AM
Nope lol. Dinner date with my daughter; we had a lot of fun.

The calories aren't that accurate ; she ate some of my tacos , I had some of her Mac and cheese, and I didn't have exactly half of the lava cake -a lil less.

Im just going to guesstimate that I was at maintenance yesterday .

It's rarely a downpour and more like a constant drizzle. Tons of people run outside in the light rain all the time there and in the rest of the pacific northwest.

I'd never do it, but serious runners do all the time.

I've got a giant TV in mine. I normally watch sports, but I could stream anything on it I wanted.

I shouldn't be making so many excuses for not exercising.
My schedule allows me to go to the gym M-F from 4:45-5:30 and anytime every other weekend.
This last month, I really haven't had any energy to do much; I think its my medicine.
I need to have a goal for December to go to the gym at least 3days a week.

Yeah, no thanks. Many reasons why a home gym can be a better option for some people than a membership. Obviously there are far more people who have gym memberships that never use them, but that's no reason not to buy a gym membership.

Rain just means shirtless run (though getting caught up in anything bigger than pea-sized hailstorms sucks), but her beef was that it was too hot to walk outside in the summer, though. If she can't get up at 5am to beat the heat, then she may need to look at other options, and if she's looking to make $500 prop bets and such in OOT, then it sounds like she's got the discretionary income to buy a cheapo treadmill.

Nice sample size.

I have free access to a gym in my community. I didn't start exercising regularly until I bought home stuff. So now the score is 1-1, where are we at?

I fixed the YouTube problem I think. Someone let me know real quick if "MLYLT" shows up instead of my name.

Yes because I'm the only person in history to not use his treadmill. Anyway, nowhere did I say with scientific certainty that she definitely shouldn't get one. I just expressed an opinion about it and gave reasons and an anecdote.

Yeah, but it's all bull****.

You assert:

Maybe it's the ongoing cost, the ritual of having to get dressed and ready and drive there. People take their exercise more seriously when it's in a gym than when it's on home equipment.
Which is complete nonsense grounded in personal preference because like 80% of gym memberships go unused (which is probably a similar statistic for home treadmills or gyms).

I disagree. Not gonna tard up this thread any further, though.

Okay, but if you don't want to tard up the thread any further, then please PM me some substantive proof of the quote below, as I am curious and it may help OP.

Since nobody mentioned it yet - yes your Youtube appears to be fixed.
