I already provided links they are 2oz/4tbsp.

FFS.
06-29-2017 , 11:12 AM
Let's say there's 4oz of dressing there (2.5oz cups is also standard it seems, but it could be 2, could be 4).

So that's 8tbsp, on the low end. Go ahead and do your math from there...

It appears to be a quarter of a cup of dressing. I was way way way off in my estimate of how much dressing that is.

Also, you're out of your ****ing mind if you think a restaurant is serving a raspberry vinaigrette that looks like that at 25cals tablespoon.

Also hadn't noticed that mihkey had done the cup size sleuthing.

Maybe OP has the real answer.

Still don't think no way 400 or over 300. But yeah the rest of the plate like 200 so 300 makes sense.

I am going with a revised estimate of 870 calories.

480 in dressing
80 in greens
130 in pecans
180 chicken (I could be just as off on this as the salad dressing. I've literally never checked how much chicken is on a salad.)

And then I clicked this link. I am on board, I would be a dog on that bet.

If that salad is 870 we should just give up on salads.

I am going with 520.

Hopefully OP has correct answer.

Almost lost 100k there!

Ya, I think the biggest takeaway is how a bunch of people who are reasonably skilled at eyeballing calories can disagree so vastly because we just make quick assumptions that may not be valid. Hence why we take the time to actually measure things. (Well I don't, because lol measuring the amount of veggies I eat. Not gonna sweat whether I have 100g or 500g of spinach ever.)

However, something like slathering ketchup on eggs/potato/meat can quickly add up when you realize you're powering through a family size bottle every week.

This is getting closer to 'You were right G4S'.

I log 8oz of cooked chicken 3 times per day at 374kcal, so if we're saying 4oz there, which seems probably right, then that's a close guesstimate imo. Obv not accounting for the butter/oil bath it was probably cooked in.

This is absolutely correct, btw.

Please see links on caloric density of restaurant dressing. You can feel free to contact Applebees/chilis help for the size of a serving of dressing.

I think I did mention earlier how I thought the measurements for these was ninja off due to saucing. Guess I now know. #angles

If there is a correct answer out there, I wager $100

It's closer to 520 total kcals than it is 870.

Who wants to bet?
06-29-2017 , 11:21 AM
We define correct answer as MLYLT ate this at a chain that lists calories.
06-29-2017 , 11:25 AM
FFS. Didn't we just cover how a "serving" is 1.25oz and those are 2 2oz containers? that is literally 3.2x the serving size of dressing on a menu.

I mean, you admitted to idiotic trolling, but this is absurd.
06-29-2017 , 11:25 AM
I am willing to go to 460 to get this action down.

I am action junkie.
06-29-2017 , 11:26 AM
The dressing was from a small town cafe, not a chain restaurant. And, they claim it was homemade.
06-29-2017 , 11:27 AM
My best guess is that it was this:

If she got extra dressing obviously no bet.

Well now that I think of it, she probably did. Okay you set it up. We need some action.
06-29-2017 , 11:28 AM
No action. No action. We will never know.

Was that the standard dressing serving or did you ask for more?

Wouldn't surprise me if that's standard in Texas.
06-29-2017 , 11:28 AM
Bro,

I have a VERY SERIOUS undertitle bet starting in 1.5 days. I can't get distracted by some silly quibbling over dressing.
06-29-2017 , 11:31 AM
Send me a text with location of restaurant.

One day when I am driving by, I will get to the bottom of this.

i personally would love for that salad to be 800 cals. Just as a mind blower.
06-29-2017 , 11:32 AM
If it's the Hidden Valley dressing she posted, and we use the standard 2oz-2.5oz cups, then...

8tbsp - 520kcal

to

10tbsp - 650kcal

You're lucky to be keeping your $100k, $200, $100 imo...
06-29-2017 , 11:36 AM
Like I said, I will personally get to the bottom of this. I live close to the OP.

I am going to be very happy to post results, either way.

I mean I might have to take the dressing to a chemical lab but the main objective is those cup size. I thought they were super tiny on my 5" phone but then I zoomed and saw the glass of water and was like "oh shiet."
06-29-2017 , 11:38 AM
How do you think I estimated less for the whole salad than for just the dressing alone?
06-29-2017 , 11:38 AM
Loco, would you like me to PM you the resteraunt? Lol
