I assumed she meant gym shoes

I put my work shoes on so I wouldn't forget them yesterday;I left straight from work to Dallas on Friday. I have a pair of tennis shoes, flip flops, and dress shoes at code3s. I have a pair of tennis shoes I keep in my car(I use these to workout) that I put on when we got to the casino Fri night to wear playing poker because the walk from the casino to poker room is so far. I took those tennis shoes off at code3s on Sunday and forgot them there.

M,

Lol @ all your food choices.

El D - It's like she's not even trying.

It's not possible to say with a large degree of certainty, but I believe she's significantly underestimating her calorie counts. My only evidence is my general experience of having eaten 1400 calories a day for the last six months. There's just no way I could be eating the things MLY regularly eats and hitting <1800 calorie numbers the way she does. 2/4 looks like a total blowout day and still she manages only 2100 cal. Unlikely.

Montecore,

I expected the Nicholas Cage one, but

Grunching a bit but imo you need more greens in your diet. Also, are you taking a vitamin supplement, preferably with B vitamins to help you make the most of your workout?

Try eating one large salad a day, preferably at dinner when you don't need heavy carbs anymore to get through the day.

Restraining yourself from eating more than 3 wings at BDUBS is some Gandhi type ****, man.

Are you planning on eating this way for the rest of your life? It seems completely unsustainable to basically starve yourself for most of the day like you're doing in order to offset the almost daily junk food binges. On the one hand, it's commendable that you've had the willpower to do that and mostly keep a caloric deficit (assuming your counts are right), but on the other hand, it seems like just a matter of time before your commitment fades or life events distract you and you'll be right back to eating 5000 calories a day because you're not even trying to change your underlying bad eating habits. And as I said the other day, I don't mean prepping meals, I mean learning how to make reasonable choices on-the-fly and doing so regularly enough that it becomes second nature. I'm not even going to get into the damage you're doing to your body by cycling between guzzling cheese & bacon grease and total fasting, without any regard for proper nutrition.

I would bet $5k that she ate more than 240 calories combined of Pasta "Alfrado", cheesecake and cobbler in that one meal.

Honestly, I glossed over those details when I skimmed her blowout day. Yeah, we can just go ahead and redact the "It's not possible to say with a large degree of certainty, but I believe" bit from my post.

Exactly! Do you guys know how hard it is to only eat 1/8 of a piece of chocolate cheesecake and one spoonful of peach cobbler at a buffet?

I applaud everyone who has the patience to keep giving sincere diet advice. It's like a continuous circle jerk; MLYLT eats crap food, people tell her not to, she agrees and says she will do better, MLYLT goes on to have breakfast at Micky D's at the earliest opportunity, rinse repeat.

Damn I should have taken pics! Code3s was with me and can confirm. I ate a really small portion of pasta, one bite of peach cobbler, and a few small bites of cheesecake. The rest of my meal was salad.
I actually ate salad at the casino; that's a win.

MLYLT,

60%!

Oh yeah, I had a bite off of the second half :/

I am going to stop eating out and fast food. I've been going way over my extra spending money budget every month, and now I'm getting nervous with all the job uncertainty. I need to eat better for my health and finances. I have already spent half my budget for the month and it's only one week in :/

Having back to back layoffs last year really screwed me, and if I was to get fired at this job I would be in bad shape and immediately working at taco Bell or wherever would hire me until I could find another engineering job.

Trips to Dallas seem expensive. Why do you guys have to go to the casino? No offense, but you've posted hand histories that in no way display you as a winning player -- plus you like to drink. You probably shouldn't be playing cards in your situation.
02-06-2017 , 02:33 PM
Did you get a free buffet? I just can't imagine paying $25 for a Winstar buffet and only eating lettuce, tomato and caesar dressing apart from a spoonful of pasta and a spoonful of dessert. They have some solid/decent grilled chicken/fish options. But if you only are going to eat a salad with no meat, you can buy that for $6 from various places around the casino.

They used to send my gf free buffet vouchers, but the bastards stopped a few months ago.

The buffet was free, I would never pay for that...It is so gross.

I don't drink that often. I think I got drunk 3 months or so ago in LA playing poker but that is rare.

I'm on a downswing, but I was making $200 a weekend for a while just playing on Saturday. I just went to play the tournament this past weekend.

You are right though, I shouldn't be playing until my job security stabilizes.

My wife is listed on care.com. She'll get a message from a prospective client, then go to an interview. Sometimes they'll choose her, sometimes they'll go with someone else. It's pretty simple, but it takes a little forethought and planning on the part of the parents.

Seems like the best solution would be to set up several interviews, find a few people who she is comfortable with, and then see who's available when she has a need for care. But what do I know - I mean, have I even ever been a single parent?

Spoiler:
yes
