Thanks a lot guys!

I guess I should just stick to quick comedy bits since they take like 1/5 the effort as my music, and people like them a lot more.

Seems like you are into sketch comedy. If you are serious about it, you should probably see if there are any local sketch comedy troupes you can join to work on your skits with.

I listen to Adam Carolla's podcast, and he talks a lot about how even if you are natuarlly funny it is still important to practice, practice, practice, puting in your time to perfect your craft.

Is his podcast like, real Adam Carolla or is he different in his older age? Cuz Loveline with him on it was probably my favorite thing ever. I can listen to that for hours on end

i used to really like his podcast, but i found him to be too much sometimes. he started treading a lot of the same ground. but he is pretty damn funny.

He is about the same on the podcast as he was on Loveline, meaning very funny. Like Kidcolin says, he repeats his stories a lot, so if that bothers you it might get old after a while. I personally like the episodes when he has an interesting guest that he has a good rapport with, some examples off the top of my head:

1. Penn (from Penn and Teller)
2. Artie Lange
3. Christy Canyon (80s porn star who he actually knew in real life)

Hes def one of my favorite people to listen to random rants that have nothing to do with the subject at hand. Even if thats what got him fired

I'm surprised H+F shares my love of Loveline and The Ace Man! You can check out www.giopodcast.com. It's basically a podcast composed of a compilation of the best Loveline shows from 1996-2005. The guy who runs it has listened to literally every show pretty much and is an obsessive Carolla fan, so he knows about what the most memorable/funny shows have been throughout the years.

I think the Adam Carolla podcast is pretty good, but plainly not as good as Loveline or the morning show.

def my favorite loveline moment. DAG has so many classics.

Yeah, my bro has like every Carolla loveline and every time we drive somewhere, we put it on. Love that site, and theres another kinda like it I cant think of atm.

Yeah I mean, it's a really fun hobby, but I gotta be honest with myself.

If I can come up with a fun 2 minute video every week that's pretty good. But I mean, even the videos I make are pretty hit or miss with people liking them, or at least having general appeal. I know there is usually at least one person who likes each video I make, but that's not worth much.

I listen to Jay Mohr's podcast and they always talk about how being funny helps but you have to stick with it and work, work, work. Most comedians don't make it, and many are miserable.

Anyway, it's just a fun hobby, hopefully I can get better at and come up with good stuff here and there.

He's got quite the tan for a ginger Australian.

Plus he is still upright - I would have been hit by a car after the first rep.

Oh, and ftr, JF, I like the effort you put into your vids, but I get like 50% of the references... Like, we never got that tequila ad in aus (I youtube'd it)... and the one that was aparently a ke$ha parody i was like "huh". I did love the poker players one though.

So I play in a inter law firm basketball league (it's real athletic as you can imagine /sarcasm). One of the guys on our team is an avid Cross Fitter. Before the game he goes, "My legs just aren't 100% today. I ran a half-marathon on Saturday and then a ****-ton of box jumps less than 12 hours later."

Without missing a beat one of the older guys on our team says "Me too. And once I finished with that warm up, I did my REAL workout."

Yeah, this. Obviously the funny varies, but a lot of them are good to very good. I liked the accent ones you did before squatting a lot.
03-15-2012 , 10:39 AM
Yeah, some of the misses on JF's vids I'm pretty sure have to do with the diverse group in H&F and not getting his references. As a USA#1 member, I think they all work quite well.

I remember listening to Loveline in HS most nights when going to bed. After a while it became too repetitive to me and I stopped. But they made for a very entertaining team - Adam on his own doesn't work as well imo, he just repeats himself and needs the straight man to pull him in and play off of sometimes.

Oh, and I know JoshK will be disappointed but perhaps others have lower standards, .

Turn on the TV and be inundated?

If anybody gets a free moment I could use some form checks:

Worked mainly on my deadlift form and watched the SS dvd again, but obv could use pointers on everything.
