so I've just started doing turkish getups again as an aux exercise. Forgot how awesome they are. I know have 1 goal for this month - do 100 lbs on the turkish getup in each hand. Worked my way up to 85 lbls from 60 today. Reasonably confident I'm still noob enough at this exercise to add 15lbs in 4 weeks.

Will post form vid next time I do them so everyone can tear it apart and make fun of me.

Fine then. Hanging out with internet people is not awkward.

I couldn't help but wonder this whole time if I was missing some subtle "Norwegitards club seals" joke...

can anyone point me to resources for convincing females (specifically my gf) that starting strength won't immediately turn them into female bodybuilders? Including anything about how making your muscles "long and lean", high reps low weight, etc is pretty much bull**** would also help? The GF is insisting that she wants her muscles to be "longer and leaner" and since the fitness industry talks about it, it must be true.

http://www.universalsports.com/video...90fd65f00.html Some of these girls are so ridic hot and none of them are "buff" by any definition and I'm fairly certain I couldn't CJ 110kg even with training.

Just tell her if she doesn't get some ghetto booty happening you're going to Brazil and buying yourself one.

You don't understand, they are almost non existent here. They are normally for the old or infirm who struggle to drive due to disability. I as lolling at how easy they are to drive, not at people who drive them or choose them over manual transmission. Hill starts were especially mind blowing to me, so worried about the car rolling backwards butnaaaah it just sits there. Also driving in slow moving traffic was an absolute dawdle.

It took me years to convince my wife. I finally did, but she still hates lifting weights because its harder than low intensity cardio or running. I wish I remembered what finally convinced her, but I dont.

Whatever argument you give, its likely to be met with significant resistance. Good luck.

My wife didn't believe a word I said until she went to a trainer and they told her all the same stuff. Now she kind of thinks I might know a thing or two....might know not do know...women

Yeah fortunately my fiancee has come to me and basically said, "I don't want to do cardio, I don't want to llose weight, I just want my legs/butt to be more muscular... tell me what to do."

I'm the unique boat of my gf fully believing me on everything with diet and exercise but does hardly any of it.

:/

No exercise, crappy diet, stays skinny.
