Learned a valuable lesson today


if toward the end of your set you find yourself gasping for air, don't take the time to catch some. I suspected as much for a little bit and on my 2nd and 3rd set of the bench I was really struggling for air and just said "no air" to myself and both went up pretty ****in easily.

Working out in the AM is interesting. Yesterday, Monday, lots of bros in the gym. Old bros, though. Curls, bench, and shrugs all over the place.

Today, not a soul over there. Standard I suppose, I think that means tomorrow there will be negative 5 people in there.

my friend, who's never done a single calf raise in his life and squats 2/3 of what I do, has hudge calves. He's done a lot of cross-country skiing and other cardiotarding though. Gogogogo

this might come as a surprise and an interesting twist, but these weren't particularly heavy but they hurt my back. Weird because I've never had lower back problems before in the last week. Was going to do more and then asked myself "Why?" Also, my knees feel stiff and awful 24/7 and I can't get past parallel anymore at any weight, even the bar.

wow im glad i stopped squats when I did. I just went to scratch my ankle and my knee just stopped. It can't go past 90 degrees right now. Doesn't hurt though, which is weird. Maybe it's just getting stronger?

i did squats the other day some guy totally goaded me in to them by squatting 135 with his feet next to eachother while wearing spandex and generally sucking at everything


squat 3x4@225 was going for 5 but omfg hamstrings

P 115: 10,9,8 these were pretty damn tiring and I was real wrecked from squats

Deadlift 0 my hamstrings were quivering so I decided not to and I'm really glad because I can hardly walk right now.

The upside is my knees and lower back feel great. My left adductor is hurting but I kinda remember how to stop doing that.

Also, my abs are worked, feels good. Hopefully this keeps on going pain free.

On the press this time I used two sets of clamps and kept the weight out as close toward the edge as I safely could. Put a clamp on first and lock it, put the weight on and then lock the other clamp. I figured it would probably help with stabilizers and even if it has virtually no effect it is requires virtually zero more setup time. No harm no foul.

It felt good and I will do it on the bench, too. Will keep squats and deadlifts how they are.

Squats are doing good, another few weeks and I'll catch up to my bench 1rm! Deadlifts were fine, nice to see that imaginary rep I did on Tuesday didn't affect me too much.

Tried to time my deadlifts but forgot to stop the timer. The first two reps were done in 40 seconds and prob 1/min/rep after that.
