Hip/knee pain most of the way (from the fall). I was thinking I was maybe 70% health here, it felt that awful.

I stayed in all day, depressed.

Later

Fullbody dumbell workout
Seal rows, incline bench, RDL, goblet squat
20 min cycling

Feeling much better, maybe 85% but I didn't test any running. Big day tomorrow morning, hoping to feel 90%. The race is on Sunday.

This morning I had sausage, eggs, bacon, mushrooms, a few minipancakes, yogurt, and 6 oz of watermelon. Way too much protein and fat, it's hard to lose old habits. Starting now, 65% carbs and the rest fat and protein.

Was 71kg just now at the gym. Not good, hopefully scale is wrong.

Ty, good people.

9/15 W13D4 3 miles 24:00

I feel better but I don't know about running 26 miles.

If you can run 800m in 2:20, Nike was giving away these vaporfly's I am wearing. I cannot do that, but I have run easy 2:35s, so I might be good for 2:27. I didn't even try it, banged up plus jeans. I did hit 20 kph without dying, so I guess I will be fine tomorrow. Hit next to me hit the 2:20 800m, he was tiny and his stride length was awesome. Mine was awful right there, partly injury and jeans but mostly because I stink at speeds greater than 20 kph. Too big also, looks like I can easily cut another 5kg!!!

Weekly mileage recap

Week 13 20.5
Week 12 37
Week 11 39
Week 10 33
Week 9 44
Week 8 37
Week 7 43.5
Week 6 32
Week 5 38
Week 4 27.5
Week 3 not logged
Week 2 25
Week 1 28

There was some cycling, but not enough. This is not good enough, what I am trying to do is not possible. I am too big. I don't run enough miles. And I am banged up.

Oh well, good news is they released pictures of the new medal and my man Kipchoge is on it!!! So I am definitely running this thing, may limp across but I want that medal.

I learned so much about running but at the end just didn't get the miles in. I went on a morning run with this American girl this morning, her target is 2:58. She ran 75 miles a week!! More than doubled my output!!! Lol. My only hope is my big heart. And I am also faster than her up to and including 10k.

Poor big bunny loco sabotaged himself in last days and have now to hop with hurt paw all the marathon distance. At least he totally can hop faster than lady bunnies even if only to show off.

Go Loco Go!

Lapka, lol.

This added drama is weaksauce. It’s like the hulkster ALMOST getting three counted before he starts getting the Real American shakes and comes back with the leg drop. We all know you are gonna crush this. Gogogo!

I'm not following your log that closely, but my sense was that 2 laps in 2:20 was within your capability. What's your 400m time?

Also, when you say you can't do that, I assume you mean right now. Or are you saying that you can't even with training for it specifically?

Kipchoge getting a new world record means loco lost the race. Weak.

Just kidding. Rooting for a Boston qualifying time.

New WR means that we don't have to hear about the weather as an excuse for anything, so I'm grateful to the Kenyan for that.

Awaiting TR, hope you crushed your goal.

Wow, he broke the WR by 77 seconds, the single largest jump on the marathon world record since Derek Clayton improved the mark by two minutes and 23 seconds in 1967. Pretty histotic race for loco to have run in

I beat the Boston Qualifying standard of 3:15.

My official time is 3:11:58. With this time, I would not be accepted for Boston last year. Small chance I get accepted this year if they don't get too many applications.

Depressed, don't want to talk about it. I would have never missed a target like this. Strava has me at 26.7 miles and polar had me at 26.6 miles. Facking slow people, I hate them. Because they had me in the wrong corral I had to run circles around them. I am done with running, this is bullshiet. Well, unless Boston accepts me.

I thought 3:11 was the goal? And a big PR?

Hope you get into Boston, but if you don't, have you considered eating and lifting your way to a normal sized human? There's always that to fall back on.

I was robbed, I was robbed by fatties. Both polar and strava have me at 3:09 for 26.2 miles. I even hit a negative split (faster second half, and wasn't even close).

First miles were
Mile1 7:27
Mile2 7:20
Mile3 7:19
Mile4 7:23

And then finally got some room to average 7:12 for 26.7 miles on strava. It was a facking zoo, last minute they threw the 3:30-3:45 into my group. Not just that, a whole bunch of them cut line. Half way I was a little over 1:36 and knew that I had to turn up the speed. I did, but I still had to pass hundreds (maybe thousands total). And then I facked up and didn't even realize where the end was. So I turned on both afterburners and nitrous on too late (I did hit 6:30 pace for last half mile). The crowd was going crazy again, the last three miles where mind blowing).

My mentor and the guy that got me into running (the One) showed up in skates in mile 23. I was going through my second cramp right as he showed up. But I heard him yelling, you got this loco! (That's my gambling name too). It's very hard to run on a hamstring cramp, it feels like they clamped a vice on you.

He was going fast on skates, he looked like Batman. I was limping but this guy is who taught me about heart and never giving up. He has ridiculous unvelievable dedication, so I endured the nasty cramp basically running with one completely straight leg.

As I finally saw the end and let it all I knew it would be close. It 3:12:19 when I finished but I didn't start right at 9:25, so I knew I was close. Honestly I thought I had it, I needed 7:18 pace and both strava and polar had me at 7:12 pace. I broke down crying, thankful to my mentor for giving me that last push (he wasn't there to see that part). I owe him so much and for him to show up like all the way from Texas was too much.

Alas, I was wrong. I thought I had 3:11:30 and I only had 3:11:58. Last year the cut off was 3:11:47.

RIP Running. Game over. Time to my find new hobby. I gave it 98%, and it hurts that because of lack of experience dodging fatties I never accessed that last 2%.

That's it for trip report. Depressed. So close, sabotaged by fatties. They act all EVhard when you trying to pass them.
