Continuing the truncated Quest discussion from May 2017: I prefer to consume my Quest bars with coffee which alleviates the dryness. My favorite flavor is Olga Chocolate.

Going to need a kcal/100g figure before I allow myself to get to full mast.

Continuing the Quest bar discussion....they're hard to get down and I don't like them. That being said, if you microwave them for 25 seconds they def taste better and are easier to eat. Esp chocolate chip.

I was looking for Josie's famous namesakes for fun and came across a young Italian female bodybuilder whom krunic would appreciate

+1 for Quest bars with coffee. Chocolate chip cookie dough all the way for me. My wife came home with 7 or 8 boxes the other day after a 15% off deal. <3

Wow is she built! Her name, Giusy (Pronounced Juicy) is the true diminutive of my name.

Looks like we know who's winning the Golden Yugo this year.

lol @ the candy bars are good for cutting sentiment.

Eat something worthwhile for the same kcal or don't bother. What's next, a protein cookie? Sheesh...

Quest bars are pretty ****ing far from being candy bars. They're basically insipid blocks of protein and fiber. Now there are "protein" products that are basically candy, loaded with calories and a bit of protein. Those aren't great for cutting.

Another side benefit of consuming with coffee is that you can place the quest bar across the top of your coffee mug and that will warm the confection ~ perfectly.

I would rather have 150kcal of a Snickers bar over 150kcal of a Quest bar any day, and especially when I'm cutting. But you do you.

Adding these for the Ladies....and for equality.

Wouldn't we all? But the issue is that a very high % of total calories needs to come from protein during a cut, if lean mass sparing is an objective. Consuming 150 cal of a snickers bar will make it that much more difficult to get adequate protein for the day, so it can't be fairly compared to a quest bar.

I suppose, but I'm on week 6 of a cut currently (at a 1000kcal deficit per day even) and haven't had any issues getting protein in. Just better meal planning on my part? That and I'd rather spend my kcals on meat over anything else probably, lol.

It's obviously a super small rock, but I'd personally much rather budget for a treat or just eat another chicken breast if the alternative is a 'protein bar'.

I forget if I posted the TR, but I went to the Mr Olympia last year and almost got into it with the Quest rep. She was claiming stuff like their products cure cancer, ketogenic diets are the wave of the future and always lead to increased neurological efficiency, these protein cheese crackers are delicious. ****ing nonsense, but I held back because the poor girl was just doing her job.

Also, I enjoy the Costco/Kirkland version of Quest bars. Only two flavors, chocolate chip cookie dough and dark chocolate, but the cookie dough is good raw and the chocolate is good heated up.

My personal experience was that the quest bars made meal planning less critical, which made my life a little easier. Also, as a smaller person, I had fewer total calories to distribute. To stay under 1400 calories, I sometimes would need to consume 200-300 calories as a standalone meal. Quest bars made this possible, as they were quite satiating for only 200 calories.
