I am back from a couple of weeks in Hawaii. I did not go to Oahu, which I'm pretty sure is where Busto is, but I can confirm that on a couple of other islands there were just random pullup bars everywhere and everyone everywhere had gigantic lats.

Pretty interesting post on All Things Gym about protein powder.

I have run across links to this blog a few times, and it seems like a great blog if you have any interest in weightlifting.

I have to admit I included that one with Cobra's eventual "dat ass" post in my head.

I was just thinking, some of the Yugo posts must be trannies, right? Yugo might be an expert troll and even have done a tranny week, with poor us none the wiser.

Optimum Nutrition #1

I hadn't heard of the Performance Whey version until this test and it seems pretty awesome, but it has more carbs and fat than 100% Whey Gold Standard product. However, the Performance Whey is available for Amazon Subscribe & Save.. so it might be worth it just for my convenience.

Poliquin on Foam Rolling

My trainer at Golds had me do this a few years ago, but only for a couple minutes. My chiropractor had me do a different static relaxation stretch for my low back that lasted ~15 minutes and it was effective when I did it daily for a while. I imagine this guy knows what he's talking about. My posture sucks, especially my neck, so I think I'm going to spend some time doing this to see if it helps my neck.

Cool, I can highly recommend it. The big island was beautiful, but I was busier there with non-resort activities that week and didn't get to explore as much as I'd have liked (my wife is a cardiotard and did a half ironman, congrats to her... coincidentally she told me she's quitting that and just lifting now, so we'll see...). I am hoping to go back soon as I have a cousin that lives there part time. On the other hand, "soon" with having kids might be 5 years from now.

We got to see a bit more of Kauai, and there were places there that I could not even believe were real. I am not traveled well enough to say for sure, but I'd guess it is one of the most beautiful places on this planet.

I didn't hike too much, just some ~1 mile trails to get to views, etc. at most. That said, from what I could tell the hiking looked just insane. Did you do the Kalaulau Trail?

I was on a boat along the Na'Pali Coast and as we passed part of the Kalalau Trail that is exposed to the ocean along a cliff face we saw a couple of hikers along the face of the cliff. For those who are not familiar, this is a ~18" (45cm) wide path along a sheer cliff face with a 300-500ft(?) sheer drop straight to the ocean. It is amazingly scary looking. Anyway, a hiker we saw raised (her?) arm to wave to our boat, and she slipped and fell to her butt... but not further. I thought I was watching someone die, but she seemed to be fine. Scary though. Coincidentally, someone did die on that trail while I was on Kauai.

I did a 15 mile day hike along the NaPali Coast, not sure what the trail name was tho (it was a few years ago). Yeah though, cliffs everywhere, was legit scary at some parts. Amazing views though
