Biked to the gym. Weighed in at 259.1. On the one hand, vaya con dios to the 260s! On the other hand, i was pretty disappointed as i weighed 260.1 on Thursday and I've been not eating like a champ. Was hoping/expecting to see a 255ish number given how skinny i think i look. But then if i look at this thread i can see that i weighed in at 266.1 on July 8th. So that's pretty good.

Deadlifted 225lbs again. Plan was to do 5x1. First one was perfect with a good hold (I hold at the top for 10 seconds keeping my shoulders neutral and squeezing my shoulder blades together). Was one of those great ones where you break out sweating profusely and see stars when you put the weights down. <3 deadlifts. Second one my grip was slipping a bit so it was just basically an up and down. Third one I was getting tired and couldn't hold for the full 10s. Couldn't get the 4th rep off the ground with 2 attempts. This was a bit of a step backwards for me.

Did barbell rows, bench presses, triceps pulldowns, side laterals, and a new lift, face pulls. Wow, what a great exercise! You really feel it in the back of your shoulder muscle. On the whole, i think i lost tiny bit of strength. I haven't lifted since Thursday but possibly the low cals played a role too.

I debated the elliptical but decided not to as there was no Twins game to watch (being honest) and I had to bike home. The ride home was hard as it's the uphill way and there was a really strong headwind the entire ride. And a bike breakdown bonus! My subdivision is a big hill so the last .75 miles of my ride home are a climb. Right as i was pulling up to my driveway (standing for more power) my pedal broke. I'm gonna put this down as too much power from my now very muscular quads and not too much weight from my still very large beer gut.

What I ate:

2 poached eggs -142 cals
1 ham steak -120 cals

Put the eggs on top of the steak and pierce them. ZOMG yolk covered ham steak! Tastes incredible when you're starving.

Dinner: 1 can of pineapple chunks in juice -315 cals

Also incredible as it's hot as balls here.

Total: 577cals

Discovered a big scratch in my Mercedes today.

Two slices of pizza for lunch. Not sure how to estimate calories, say 700?

Do you ever get pizza at Costco? One of their slices is 680, so 700 is probably not a bad estimate.

They were big slices of thick crusted, flavorful pizza too.

Biked with 1.5 feet to the bike shop, then with 2 feet to the gym. Weighed in at 257.0! Lifted, 30 minutes on elliptical, then biked home. Plan to eat a can of fruit for supper and i can't wait. Sweating my balls off all day.

Also, i had to carry 2 couches out of my basement for some contractors coming tomorrow. My forearms were DEAD from yesterday's deadlifting. I sucked. Gotta redeem myself when we move them back.

How do you bike with 1.5 feet?

Very carefully!

instantrimshot.com

The pedal was cracked down the middle which meant to putting great force on it and no standing for hills.

Went over to a buddy's house to move some patio brick from his driveway to backyard. Had 2 IPAs. 400cals. Plus his wife made us some nachos. Those had some calories. Probably getting towards 2000cals today.

Great. Time to embrace exhaustion, hunger and fatigue!

And that not even all of it, I kid you not.
Gas, bloating, nutritional deficiencies, losing muscle mass and slowing down metabolic rate as bonus features!

And don't forget about the chance of developing irregular heart rhythms, abdominal pain and electrolyte imbalances!

Cabbage soup diet has all the bases covered.

I mean, why would anyone ever even consider doing silly **** like this?

Instead of like, eating at a small to moderate calorie deficit to induce fat loss, coupled with adequate protein intake and regular exercise to stop / slow down muscle loss.

Wow, you think all these things are gonna happen from 3 days of eating soup?? Well, gas i'll give you.

2 straight days of rain, no biking. Drove to the gym yesterday and lifted plus 30 min on elliptical.

Picked up a shift today to help a friend get to a wedding. While here, another friend called in because her dad is in the hospital. So I'm now working a double. If I have a flaw, it's that i'm too good of a person.

Friday was a drinking day. Split a plate of nachos, figure my half was 1200cals after a day/afternoon of soup.

Saturday was another drinking day. Soup in the AM, grilled chicken breast in the PM.

Had 415 cals today; going out drinking.

It's really good. It's very flavorful and spicy and is something that i actually enjoy eating.

I haven't been eating nothing but soup the way you're supposed to but it's actually something that's nice to have in the fridge when you want a snack.

Grunching from the two quotes below and will go back and finish the rest as we have similarities in our stories, though I am a fair bit older.

I was going to ask if you count these calories then I see where you did count the IPA shortly after the quote below. FYI Whiskey (mmmm bourbon) has fewer calories than beer and no carbs. 100 proof is ~83 calories per 1oz shot. I usually sip on a few (or more) 1.5 ounce jiggers in a glencairn glass.

I was going to ask which app then I saw a post or two about it. I have found mapmyfitness to be fairly in line with what I have researched calorie burn should be for someone my size. The MMF app lets you input tire size and it links with myfitnesspal so it has your bodyweight as well. From my research, depending on speed, I should burn 40 - 60 calories per mile.

Hehe, my bike made it about 5 years (guessing 3,000+ miles since I didn't have a smart phone for tracking the first 3 years and have done 1500+ last year + this year) until I had to take it for the full blown $200 disassemble/recondition (they do free maintenance/adjustments once per year) to get the bottom bracket (crank shaft assembly/guts) replaced.

Also, I hope you ride the roads and not sidewalks. Sidewalks are way more dangerous. I almost got hit by a car a couple months ago and ended up hitting a curb, going over my bars, and landed on my shoulder separating my AC joint. 10 weeks and I still have pain. Had to take a break from the bike for a week or two and only now have been able to start doing things like crunches, few pushups, light dumb bells, etc. Now I ride half a mile to a park and do laps on their smooth asphalt walking/biking path.

There you go, was wondering when you would start eating some veggies. Veggies can be incredibly filling and are low calorie. Some fruit can't hurt either in terms of having a more well rounded diet like others have suggested.

I try and have a big spinach salad with some cauliflower, tomato, low fat dressing (kroger zesty italian is like 15 cals per 2TBSP) and some chopped up leftover baked chicken every day for lunch and a big plate of steamed veggies (sprouts, asparagus, carrots, broccoli) with fresh baked chicken or some other protein (tuna on paleo bread, etc. had frozen salmon burger done on george foreman grill tonight with homemade guac) and I am usually stuffed for <400 calories. My go to snack lately is peeled baby carrots.

I would definitely drink more mixed drinks (using diet coke) but my drinking lately has been on boats, in inner-tubes, at outdoor concerts, etc. which are places where you drink out of a cooler. Much more beer-friendly setup. I live in Minnesota and we get out on the water every day that it's possible in the summer. Winter Is Coming.

I ride almost entirely on my city's awesome bike paths. I only have to cross 2 roads to get all the way downtown, and those are at the same intersection (I go from NE corner to SW corner). Once I get downtown, I ride on the roads like an ahole (like all bikers, running stop signs mostly).

I eat a salad every night at work and my go to snacks are broccoli, celery, and the occasional carrot. I get sick of carrots pretty fast.

I'm seriously having great luck eating canned fruit. A can of pineapple chunks is 315cals, tastes amazing, and is super refreshing in this sweltering heat. I think about those chunks the whole ride home as i'm sweating my balls off. That's dinner most nights. Mandarin oranges have even fewer calories.

You don't have an employee break room area with fridge where you could put your own salad with leftover chicken in it or something like that?
