How exactly would whey be dangerous? It's just leftover protein from cheese production.

Whey is um, whey, as in curds and whey, like in cottage cheese. I'm pretty sure it's safe.

Yes!

That's what I was thinking.

It seems that the 'dangers' of whey consumption aren't inherent but are a result of either an imbalance of macros in some protein fanatics' diets (which is easily fixed) or, in some people, lactose intolerance.

Josie; you want to think, "Go **** yourself" and make your facial expression fit it.

What has your research revealed to be the optimal protein intake?

Josie,
What's the length of your pool in meters?
Are you counting a lap as one pool length or down and back?

I was assuming 25-30% of the daily maintenance calorie-wise. However, the USDA daily requirements calculator has recommended 12% to me (66 g per day). So 60 g of whey concentrate per day look unnecessary indeed.

No clue how long it is, but I am assuming standard olympic pool. It has 4 lanes.

I count one way as one lap, but perhaps that's wrong!

That would be 50m one way....so lucky to find a long pool.

Do you want to do a challenge with me to work up to a mile swim? We could add 50-100m per week. I'll only get to swim 1-2 times a week though.

It's almost certainly 25 yards (but we all call it meters) and no, a lap is down & back. Otherwise you could just call it "lengths".

I doubt it's 50m unless she is at some type of aquatics center. My pool at 24hr fitness is 25m.

Pics of pool please and I can tell you the length; it will also be good to know if you start counting workout Calories.

50 meters is a really big pool.

25 yards is only about 6.5 feet shorter than 25 meters. I wouldn't describe that as "very short".

I just called them and the pool is 25 meters long.

I can't believe I've been stupidly calling one length a lap. Duh! Of course a lap is one completion.

So I swam 5 laps last night then.

5 or 2.5 laps? You said 5 when you were calling a pool length a lap.

I'll take a picture tonight but they say it's 25 meters.

I will definitely not be counting work out calories but just want to progress and do more and more each time.

I feel SOOOOO good after swimming in their pool - that's why I really swim.

According to this, my daily intake should be 300g carbs and 58g protein.

Oh ChA, you have some 'splainin' to do!

It does feel amazing to swim!!!
You can work out your legs and arms really good as well. Look and see if your gym has some foam barbell looking thingies; you can put one between your thighs to stabilize your legs and only do arm strokes. Get a kick board and do 50m of flutter kicks and then 50m butterfly kicks. With the butterflies, you should do a 2 count, big kick/little kick, and you will feel a bubble go up from you ankles to your vjajay....you know your legs are tight and straight enough if you feel the bubble. Your hips and ass will be on fire after the kicks.

Don't you work with architects? Borrow a tape measure. Then you can go chew the guy out for telling you 25 meters when it's 25 yards. As a bonus, this may get people to stop talking to you, too.
