just realized you probably don't drink it neat and your mixer may have had carbs, eh?

I just checked mfp and you're right. How can vodka have calories but no carbs, fats or protein? So weird.

So my carbs came from have a dinner of fruit and veggies and also had a small tortilla in the morning that is out of the norm. I'll post my food for yesterday as it was all out of the norm and mostly "grab and go".

Thanks for the heads up!

You're wise beyond your years, and you're right.

But I haven't played poker...

Thanks MLY!

I've lost 79 lbs so far! Because I'm so short I do not carry weight well as you can see.

You're lost a lot of weight too and you should be very proud of yourself. It's so easy to gain it back, so I'm glad you're still working on it. You know the difference 50+lbs can make on a body's mobility, right?

I mean back then all I could do was eat, work, go home, eat, go to bed and that was soooo exhausting. Do not get to that place again!!!!! I know I don't want to go back there.

It was a dark and depressing time for me, but I am here to tell you that it can and does get better.

Hose E - if you like Ketel One, try Chopin as well if you haven't had it before. Those are my two GOAT easily-found-in-restaurants vodkas. Chopin gimlet is my #1 choice for testing the waters in unknown locales.

Chop,

We should prob take this to OOT LC, but FYI you can't tell the difference between a Chopin gimlet vs most other types of vodka.

I disagree!!! But for science I may try a side by side taste test.

Josie,

I'm up like $700 to date on vodka prop bets. You probably can't tell the difference between most vodkas period, even more unlikely when chilled, and almost certainly can't chilled with some lime or other mixer added.

If you want to try it yourself, make sure you do it blind.

What are some vodka brands you think you like/dislike?

I tend to agree with El D although I did buy a bottle once that was the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted. Ended up being an expensive household cleaner

Rexx,

There are certainly some very harsh cheap brands that are poorly distilled and burn with an off taste. And there are some particular brands like Pearl have a distinctive flavor to them. But for all the clean and crisp mid to high end vodkas, almost nobody can tell the difference. They just think they can.

It wasn't that cheap unfortunately, but I have had cheaper vodkas in the past which were perfectly fine. When I'm saying cheaper I mean in the $28-40 range(700ml).

I usually drink grey goose or ketel one. Cold River is very good. Ciroc and absolut aren't bad. Dislike Smirnoff very much. Belvedere I've loved and disliked. Maybe they have different grades?

Also dislike flavored vodka. Ugh. Lime or olives find there way into my vodka tho.

ED - check my join date. I've been around long enough to know your tricks. You've been trying to scam people with your vodka prop bets for at least the last dozen years. Also, Slate did a blind vodka taste test with 12 people and 11 vodkas. The final result:

Quote:
Final Verdict: Following a second round of shots, the panel unanimously called Chopin "far and away the best vodka we tried."
unanimously

Hose E - I found another gif that may be more accurate for you:

Josie: have someone make two gimlets each of grey goose, ketel, absolut, and Smirnoff. To win you just need to taste them and pick out the two Smirnoff. Try it out sometime, it's fun!

Chop: if you take a single potato vodka straight vs grain vodkas, yeah, you might be able to tell the difference. Just like I can pick Pearl out of a lineup. Also lol at that article for a number of reasons. But we're talking about a gimlet lineup. When are you sailing to the SF bay? I'm already set up pretty well for taste tests, and I'll buy a bottle of Chopin just for you!

Edit: Josie I don't think there's much more to discuss on this topic until chop ventures to SF, but we can take any further replies to OOT rather than muck up your blog. And have a great gym visit Friday!

Holy shiat that's awesome! I will tolerate the Hose E only because mad gif skillz.

Also can you make a tiny pic of the final result in my sox hat? So I can use it for my avatar? Seeing myself all wrapped up in the winter coat and hat makes me warm.

I am obv trying the Chopin asap.
