Ew.

I agree we are all a little odd but I either feel interest/attraction/passion or I don't. If it's not there no bueno. Learned that the hard way.

No reason you can't do a month or two as you've described, see how it goes, and then run his program from then on with periodic checkups every six months or so thereafter as necessary.

I concur with everyone's comments about how you continue to kill it - keep it up!

Made some chili last night which was pretty good and very meaty. It will be today's lunch as well.

Food was ok yesterday. I had peanut butter with breakfast which I loved but it's a slippery slope. I wanted MOAR, but didn't have it, and there are better options for breakfast.

Carb intake > protein intake is not per definition bad.

1200 cals seems so low, but I'm a 120 kg male who needs 3000+ cals to maintain.

I agree with $500 dollar 1-2 month with hands on coach.

After initial 1-2 months you have 3 options.

1) When your technique is solid there are many solid online coaches that does video reviews and programming for about $100 a month.

2) Use a standard template, lots free ones floating around, you can probably get help on here tweaking them to you.

3) Suggest current coach you are willing to keep him at 100-200/month with hands on training less often, but still responsible for programming.

$500/month sounded absurdly overpriced, but $125/visit is a little more palatable I guess.

I know of one trainer that is at Tony's level that charges about $400/mo for online coaching only. You get what you pay for imo.

Yeah I wasn't sure if it was a ripoff or not. But I think a hundy a session is typical plus I get custom program.

Plus plus plus plus plus plus plus plus plus plus plus plus you got medical mystery knees so can think of it as an investment in delaying surgery!

I told him knee really hurt a lot on Sunday and on Monday it hurt a little but less so.

He said he needed this kind of feedback so he'd know how to proceed. That we did a ton of squats but he kept going cuz I was able to do them correctly.

He said it was a good sign that knee was already improving and to keep doing glute bridges but hold off on squats for now.

Yes, the magical mystery knees are the main reason to go to him, plus to learn lifts correctly.

While working on deadlifts he'd poke a muscle and say "use this muscle not that". It really helped.

Taking a break for a few days. Spent yesterday at hospital and it's very grim. I'm needed w sis for lots of reasons. No time for gym or cooking atm. It is what it is.

Don't think I don't know it's hard to come back from a break. I'll still be tracking my food, whatever shiat I'm eating and obv try to make best choices possible.

Yesterday I had 659 kcals. Below is the breakdown.

Gl and good to hear you will try to keep making good decisions rather than completely give up on all the progress you've made.

A little late here, but lol'd at the worrying what to wear to meet with the trainer. Good to see you are still doing great work in here and finally met with him to go over your form in the main lifts.

Sorry to hear about your relative, hope everything works out for the best.

Josie,

I'm confident you'll make good eating decisions and make the best of this bad situation. Hope things go as well as they can; I'm sure just you being there will be valuable for your sister.

Fwiw, coaches like you describe are 60-200/session here, with the median around 85-100. So 500 for what you describe sounds reasonable, and as others have said already it's just a question of how many months it makes sense for you to pay that much. At least doing the first month sounds like a smart investment to me.

Congrats on continuing to rock!
