First he told me to take my chuck taylors off(!). I did everything in socks. He assessed my mobility, flexibility and strength, then we did an initial workout.

Spent a LONG time learning proper form for a squat; feet, knees, back, core etc. then we did it with a plate but I don't know how heavy.

I also learned how to do a dead lift! Glute bridges, some other stuff, then he told me to do a push-up.

Um, I can't!

I showed him anyway, not quite doing one. He said that we don't do girly push-ups and my first goal is to do some real push-ups. He also said push-ups were more about core than shoulders/arms so we'd be focusing on my core. Then I did a **** load of push-ups but instead of doing it against the floor, it was against a low bar, about a foot off the floor. I did a lot. Maybe 5 sets of 8.

I did other shiat too.
I'll finish update later, but I LOVED it .

Great to hear the first meeting went well. Was it like an audition to see if he would take you? How often will you be working together now? That picture! Wow. Such an incredible transformation. Love it.

Thanks Mark!

No it wasn't like he wouldn't he take me, but he checked every single body part in depth; moving, twisting and probing everything. He said my knees were **** obv and the left one was worse. Hips were a little tight but good.

He said shoulders, arms and back were really good, that I was lucky because that's where more people have issues so we are good to go with the big 3.

Workout took over 1.5 hrs and I thought, huh that was doable (it didn't kill me). I thought maybe a 7 on a1-10 scale. I was wrong. Last night I could barely move and this morning I feel about the same. Sore muscles in my sides, back, arms and esp thighs.

Thank you all for the encouragement!

I still don't know what training with him costs. Josie 2.0 Yesterday cost $150.

He said one option is to work out with him 1 day per week and he'd write me a program to do the other days at my gym. And he said he'd email his pricing to me when I finally asked HOW MUCH.

Unless its exorbitant, I will prolly go for this option.

Then he asked me how I heard of him. Josie 2.0

"See...there's this really strong guy who knows his **** in Minnesota..."

Omfg that story took a while!

Tony said he's given a seminar in Minneapolis. Cha did you go to that?

Let's get caught up on the numbers from yesterday.

Calories 1156
Protein 122g
Fat 52g
Carbs 48g

Below was yesterday's breakfast.

Below are Saturday's food log.

Also, lookie at all the steps I had yesterday in addition to the work out! Plus the 8.8k steps were just when I had my phone on me. Probably did 1-2k in steps without the phone on me too.

So further update on Tony The Trainer and a little story about the social anxiety...it was there, just not how I expected it would be.

Tony sent me an email with the price....finally! He will write me a program and meet with me once per week for a workout session. That costs $500 per month. I can meet him 2, 3 or 4 times a week but the price goes way up.

Only issue is my knee has been killing me since the last workout, so we'd def have to adjust for that. I think I'm going to do it though, at least for a couple of months and then see.

Social anxiety story....so there was this guy lifting weights in Tony's gym during my workout. He said hello to me at some point and maybe told me his name, which I think is Kevin.

Anyway, when I was getting ready to leave so was Kevin. At this point Tony asked me what I was doing for the rest of the day and I told him I was going back to Mass General Hospital to visit a friend. I'd ubered from the hospital to the gym originally. (sis' bf has taken a turn for the worse.)

Kevin pipes in to say that he lives in the North End which isn't that far from the hospital and he'd give me a ride.

Very nice, except I don't know the ****ing guy and have maybe said 1 word to him (hello) before this. So I'm like a deer in the headlights - not answering, save "um...." Then Tony pipes in that he'd vouch for Kevin and Kevin definitely isn't an axe murderer...

Okay...

I mean it was nice of him to offer but I don't know him from **** and now I'm going to have to make conversation with him in his car...

So I'm like "Thank you for offering, okay..."

And I'm locked in a car with a total stranger, who btw was wearing microshorts that got very hiked up in the car.

OMFG

Oh and it was all in slow motion, because of mother****ing traffic.

He was happy enough to tell me ALL ABOUT HIMSELF so he kept up most of the conversation, mostly about his profession; insurance law. And because I'm polite, I feigned interest, which was probably a bad idea. Turns out he lives about 1 minute FROM WHERE I WORK.

OMFG - Is all I have to say about THAT.

Kevin sounds perfect for you. Congrats!

But, yeah, I mean, that situation sounds good to me but if you are that uncomfortable, why did you agree to go with him? Did you think it was something you should do but still felt uncomfortable about it anyway?

Looks too expensive. Just do one month and confirm your deadlifts and squats are good form and no knee pain.

I wasn't sure if it was expensive or not.

I was thinking 2 months but you may be right that one month is enough. We started working on my dead lift form during first session but I didn't actually lift anything yet.

Omfg

He was just being nice, it's not him it's me. I agreed because it would've looked weird if I said no.

It's not like I thought he'd rape or murder me and I didn't want to appear ungrateful for his offer, so I did it knowing it would make me uncomfortable. I just don't enjoy making conversation w someone I don't know.

Add to that, he is very odd. He must be smart to be an attorney but odd is odd. Lol

I hear you. Mandatory smalltalk is the nut worst.

Already killing the diet game and soon killing the lifting game as well! If it's not too much of a burden money wise I'd go with 1 month and see how it goes.

We all are in one or other way odd. Just embrace your own and other people's oddness. And why do you deflect any possibility of a flirt or this guy being interested in You? I mean you are attractive and 100% interesting.

Thanks rAv!

I'm going to at least do 1 month and I like how there was no mention of getting locked into 3-6 months or whatev
