Looking back at mfp recently I'm afraid I might actually be ******ed.

Tons of days I'm significantly over my calories. Here I am bitching about not losing weight and I'm 300, 500 or more calories over my goal and my macros looks like a child's. two days of decent compliance and I drop weight. You're all welcome to follow soulman and ignore this log from now on.

I'm trying. Not sure what the end goal is. Maybe get to where I feel like I look decent then eat at maint. And try and work on strength again. Who knows.

1770 to end the day only 165g of protein which I thought was going to e more. My macro split is like 37p 35c and the rest fat. It was way better leading up to dinner. Which I didn't think was so bad.

Yeah, there's a lot of legit power lifters there, so it's easy to get feedback. You just have to ignore the idiots, like a dude telling me to be careful with my knees squatting. I asked if I caved, he said no, just gotta be careful.

GTFO.

Good job on the weight!

I had a guy mirin me in the squat rack and after my second set he's like you shouldn't go that low. I tried to explain to him that it's actually better for your knees, but he wasn't having it. So i let him get back to his smith machine shrugs.

Okay guys how important are the percentages for me of my macros?

Ex my protein is good at around 50 but fats and carbs are off. They're supposed to be 25% each. But they're carb heavy. Does it really matter?

I'm in the camp of "it depends what kind of person you are". I weighed myself every day when I was cutting, and I still do even now; it's more of an OCD tick and a way to feel like I'm keeping on top of things, but if that's what he needs to do, that's what he needs to do.

Once you weigh yourself every day for a month, this bull**** attitude of "I ate at a 1000 calorie deficit yesterday and didn't lose weight" magically goes away, because you realize ****'s a bit more complicated than that, whooshes happen, and the like.

To the surprise of noone, my workout buddy says **** like this all the time (I've eaten 1600 calories a day for the last two days and I haven't lost weight, time to dial it down again!"). Sigh

i agree with everything except bolded for Jeff awesome. Seems like he thinks calorie counting doesnt work if he doesnt lose weight everyday and then he gets fed up with no progress after 2 days and quits. He hasnt done this in a while and has made pretty good progress lateley but it just seems by the tone of some of his posts lately he is geting fed up. I could be way off though

I think weighing every day can be OK if its properly managed. For example, by judging progress as an average over the past seven days, or comparing to the weight 7 days previously. So compare this Tuesday to the weight last Tuesday and so on. This could easily be set up in a spreadsheet. A chart could be used to graph progress where the average weight over the last seven days was the value used.

You're way off. I've seen progress. I've accepted the system and drank the kool-aid. I weigh myself everyday because like Monte, I'm OCD.

Things are going really well for me diet wise. I don't struggle anymore. I am finally getting an understanding of the importance of macros.

I'm not going anywhere.
