Nothing wrong with outside shed imo.
I have my home gym set up in one and I find it great.
A power rack + a bit of clearance in front of it to ohp/deadlift/clean/whatever doesn't really take that much room/space although extra-room/space obv never hurts.

Kinda depends on the shed in question though I guess.
Ours is more like a small house actually, built more or less in the same manner as the main house.

Anyhoo, GL w house-hunting.

Squats
5x110
5x140
3x165
5x210
3x235
3x265

5x10x135
Leg curls 5x10x110

Really upset with only three reps. Third rep felt fine maybe a bit tough but I thought I had at least two more, then I got pinned. Oh well punished myself with the bbb squats and leg curls, really focused on controlling the weight on the curls.

Update on the house: it looks like we might actually get it! It's got a garage but I can't Ohp in it. The wife and I will probably just join the Y together instead.

Press
5x50
5x60
3x70
5x90
3x105
4x115

5x10x60
Lat pulldowns 5x10x115

Let me preface this update with this: I got 4 hours of sleep this morning, ran around chicago all day with family that was in town, ate like **** and decided to go lift. 105 felt like a ton, so I'm not surprised with only four reps. I am kind of annoyed at how little progress or lackthereof I've had with my press. I'll admit a lot of things account for this (lack of nutrition, lack of training, lack of everything). It's still really annoying. Anyway that's that!

Really upset with my progress on 5/3/1, maybe its because I'm so far behind on these first three weeks, but I feel like I'm getting weaker.

Is 5/3/1 in line with your goals?

I see like 8 workouts since starting 5/3/1 with an avg of 3-4 days between each. I don't think you can blame the program bro. That being said, I agree that it's not optimal for your goals. Still though, compliance. Compliance. Compliance.

Well my goals are as follows. Get strong>get less fat>get huge but not fat. What would you recommend souldude.

You seem to waffle around a lot wrt goals. A few weeks back getting less fat was the most important. Make a choice and commit to it. 5/3/1 is fine for getting stronger. Although I still think the default template with leg curls and the like is silly. See last page of my log for what I'm gonna be running.

Getting stronger and getting less fat are obviously conflicting goals. So set both long-term goals and short-term goals that help you achieve them. You can eat more and get stronger now. Diet like crazy, likely lose a bit of strength and lose a lot of fat. Try to recomp to get a bit stronger and lose a decent amount of fat. If you e.g. want to put looking good naked on the top of your goal list, I'd focus on losing a ton of fat quickly. That's me though.

I know I'm going to get a ton of **** about this. But the only thing that has really worked for me to lose fat is to do cardio. When I was 18 I lost 40lbs by walking four miles a day, and last year I lost about 20 pounds by doing insanity for like maybe three weeks. I was thinking that doing insanity will wreck my lifts especially if I do it everyday. I was thinking about doing it every other day and just trying to lift everyday other day, not really expecting progress but keeping myself conditioned as to not regress. Thoughts?

Reread the section titled Moving North of the Vag.. In other words, hill sprints are part of the programming, so do them instead of insanity. Or at least start with walking and progress to hills imo.

Yeah I was just out pushing the baby prosper and remembered hill sprints. Now to find a hill...

Regular sprints are fine, too.

Nothing wrong with insanity if you just want to get leaner and in better shape.

The important thing is to pick something that helps you reach your goals and to stick with it.

Insanity would be logistically easier because I wouldn't have to leave the house, find a hill and do all that stuff.

What should I do about my lifts if I'm alley focused on cutting thirty pounds.

Do basic compound lifts using strength based programming and lift heavy.

something like this could work (note I have no idea how sapping insanity is).

Mon: lift
Tues: insanity
wes: insanity
thurs: rest
fri: lift
Sat: insanity
sun: rest

Monday: press/squat
Fri: bench/dead

either follow 5/3/1 or do 3x5 or 2x5, 5+ (gslp style).

Just a thought.

Insanity is pretty brutal. My conditioning is better now than it was when I first started but it still sucks. I think I might try this set up. Two days rest seems nice. I can do insanity at home so I really have no excuse not to do it. ONWARD AND UPWARD!

start off with 3 days rest and just 2 days of insanity, work your way up. Start very light with the lifts.

Umm that's what I've been doing well maybe besides the lift heavy part.

In all honesty I'd like to just lose belly fat while getting huge. The funny thing about my spasticness is that I'm actually slowly noticing a change in my body composition. My belly seems a little bit smaller, while my back seems wider. I really don't know what to do in terms of goals. I know I need to pick something and stick to it, I'm just worried I'll lose the weight by starving myself and killing myself working out and the second I stop I'll be right back at 250.

I like 5/3/1 I just am kinda bummed about stalling on squats. I'm still going to finish this cycle eventhough I dont see the point of recovery week. We shall see, I very well might stick with 5/3/1 and add some insanity or some sprints. Who knows.
