Solid effort bro, nice. Didn't look that grindy except for the last one. Still going down a bit too fast imo, and wrists are def not straight. I'd prob go even wider with grip.

I'd also consider pressing first, since in my experience they interfere minimally with squats.

Yeah honestly tried to focus on more control going down. I did a solid job of that in my earlier sets.

Will press first next time. What about benching and deadlifting, it seems like torture after doing pr squats.

I always squat first, and haven't noticed an effect on my press. Also, if I press first, then I'd be squatting and DLing back to back, which is not a habit I want to get into.

I'm sure squatting affects my DL, but short of squatting 2 days a week and DLing on the other one, I'm not sure there's anything to do about that. IME benching after squatting is fine; I would hate to do it the other way around.

I bench before I squat, and it works fine imo.

Don't have much of a choice with regards to squats and DLs, gotta do squats first. If you're nearing the tail end of linear progression, moving to the advanced novice template (basically light squats on Wed) sounds good. In that case I'd DL on Wed.

I'm sure it would be fine physically, it's more of a psychological issue for me -- it's easier for me to stomach benching when I know I've gotten squatting out of the way first.

What are your recommendations on when to move from DL'ing every other workout (as I am now) to once per week?

Once you feel recovery is impacted too much.

I'll have to really pay attention in the next few weeks, and see how benching first goes. My bench is so bad I really don't want to have it affected by things like being wrecked from squats.

Have you started GTGing pushups yet?

Also slow down a little bit on the squats so I can catch up, please.

I need to do pushups, badly. But I am so bad at them I just ignore them. Great excuse IMO.

Trust me 280 is going to be a bitch.

For the record, I stopped SS the first time around @ 285.

Also I think you're still doing high bar.

Man if you think I'm still doing high bar, I really have to get the bar real low. If it goes any lower on my back I feel like I have to use my hands to get the bar off the hooks. Which with trying to keep my wrists flat is counter productive. I'll really try to get lower next time.

One set right after you wake up, one right before you hit the sack, and fit in 2 or 3 throughout the rest of the day -- if you suck at them, then it just goes quicker. Try it for a month and you'll be impressed with your progress, I promise you.

What percentage of your BW was that, though?

Looks like that to me, too.

I got to around ~1.85BW squats for 3x5 before stopping SS, but Im not sure how many resets I made along the way. It seems many people stop SS from 270-320 range, going from the SS forum. Those who go past it are the ones who don't care about gaining 60lbs of bodyfat

As I've said before I want to be on SS for as long as possible, but honestly get out of my log with your jerk ass superhuman numbers!

Heh, i guess i didnt mean it to come across like that. I meant that you can (or at least I was able to) sustain some degree of "linear" progress longer if you like by taking a few extra resets but continuing on the SS path and eating hard, rather than stopping after two like is common. Perhaps counterproductive from a physique point of view, but possible.

Im just giving you a hard time aidan. But seriously 1.85bw squat is pretty close to elite and SS is a beginner program!

I feel like I'm going to do SS for a while and go through a lot of squat resets because I don't want to switch programs until my upper body lifts get closer to my lower body lifts.

Actually did pushups just now. Going to try and do these throughout the day, especially while I'm on vacation.
