I mentioned I've been having Dannon Light and fit. This is only because that's what my wife eats. The carb levels are low enough to work with her type 1 diabetes easy.

Are there better options for me?

Wow your post was timed impressively well with my question I just asked.

I just read the comparisons and it seems like a no-brainer. Thanks for pointing it out. I'll pick up the Fage tomorrow.

Also, my buffalo semen tolerance isn't what it used to be.

Sugar from the tea is the next thing to go imo

15 calories of unrefined sugar twice a day max. Here's why I'm ok with it....

My type 1 diabetic wife recently cut Splenda out of her diet because it's basically poison. She replaced it with this unrefined sugar and it doesn't effect her blood sugar. She could NEVER do that with white sugar.

I hope I never get to the point that a 30 calorie swing for the day makes an impact. But thanks for the feedback. I'm not going to be successful long run with out discussion here.

Fage GOAT

Diet looks alright, you'll need to drill things down 30 or so pounds from now, but whatever. Maybe check out Venuto's book if you have time.

Thanks. Yeah, I expect to have to tighten the bolts when I plateau. It will be a good problem to have.

Good luck OP. Seems like a lot of guys hit their 30s and realize they are becoming fat old people and start to get stronger and lose weight. That's what happened to me. You'll get there. Just take effort and discipline.

Wasn't worried about the calories (I can do arithmetic too!), just seems like a leak to sweeten tea. Drink better tea

I don't drink close to as much water on weekends as I do during the week at work. It's just so easy at work, and a good excuse to get away from my desk for a few minutes. I'm moving around a lot on weekends, so I don't have an empty glass staring at me. Water intake is one of the things that I already do well, but I've always noticed deficiencies on the weekends. This weekend was better than most I think, and I'm conscious of the problem.

So, do I have to eat nonfat, or is 2% ok?

40 calorie difference per cup, so it's up to you. You're probably getting enough fat otherwise, so it's purely a taste issue unless you're eating an assload of it.

I guess the big benefit of Greek y is the protein, right?

Re: GY, yes. If it's Fage, then that, plus also that it tastes good and is a good substrate for whatever other stuff you like (protein powder, fresh fruit, granola, cereal, all of the above).

I'll post updated weight on Monday mornings.

286lbs 1/5 starting weight
276lbs 1/12

Good start. Need to get exercise plan in place.

Today's eats....

2 slices whole wheat toast w PB

Hot tea w 1 ts unrefined cane sugar & splash of 2% milk.

Saladworks Cobb salad, subbed grilled chicken for fried chicken, light green goddess dressing mixed in, whole wheat roll.

2 grilled center cut pork chops with grilled cubanelle peppers and onions. Yellow squash lightly sautéed.

1/2oz dark chocolate

Hot tea w 1 ts unrefined cane sugar & splash of 2% milk.

Decided to bypass carbs with dinner just to do it. They were pretty small pork chops. The star of the plate was actually the mount of fresh yellow squash.

I was pretty happy with my weigh in this morning but know that I have to get my ass moving soon. I few people said Couch to 5K is awesome, but some recommended against it. I think I'm going to give it a try for the first three weeks and see how my knee and back are handling it.

Bananas are fine to eat, right? I was surprised to see that the Internet has opposing views. I'm talking one at a time, not 10 a day or anything. Thoughts?
Jal79's fat@$$ no more: Now's the time Quote

Sure they're fine in moderation. Kind of calorie dense and mostly carbs, but some good nutrients and fiber. I think 105 calories for a medium sized one.

Yeah, some people could literally die if they were to eat bananas but severe food allergies aside, anything that isn't poisonous is 'fine' to eat, in moderation, for most people.

If there is room in your calorie budget and consuming bananas isn't going to get in the way of say, getting in enough protein, sure, fill a portion of said budget with bananas.

Way too much peanut butter itt. YOu probably don't weigh it or measure it amirite? Obligatory leigh peele video link:

Def. start something low impact for exercise. Assuming you have a smart phone, download an app like argus and track your steps. Shoot for 6k a day and up it. DOn't worry about c25k right now, lets move some big rocks first.

And I won't wish you good luck. Luck has nothing to do with it. Get to work.

Breakfast is definitely reminiscent of ytf's "healthy" bagel with peanut butter, but whatever. Baby steps, the scale will tell the story
