I have lost weight over the past 7 weeks after eating according to the 70's Big plan, which involves lots of McDonalds and cheesesteaks. **** yeah, eating tons of food and lifting heavy **** rules! Wish I would have thought of this years ago.

Haha.

I doubt that would work for maintaining a 10% body fat though, which is the goal of quite a few people. I haven't followed ISF's log closely, but isn't he lolol strong and at a very low bf?

Where my Intermittent homies at.. I'm on week two of trying IF. I'm already skinny, but the love handles were growing. I'm mostly doing a 16/8, read leangains.com and anything else interesting/useful I can find. workout wise I'm doing SS, GTG on weighted pullups, and going some minor sports.. going to throw in some Tabata sprints/jumprope/who knows what else soon for cardio.

But mainly doing IF and will be switching to the LG IF bulk program or what I can gather on it.

I've started doing 24 hour fasts on Sundays(like 7pm Saturday-7pm Sunday). I have done them for 2 weeks now. Super easy. Two weeks ago after reading about IF I wanted to see if I could make it 16 hours before eating, that was no problem so I tested myself by trying to go 24 hours. I could have kept going.

Not sure if I should have added fasting yet as I'm skinny fat on a cut and had been losing weight consistently by eating at a deficit and doing resistance training. I still haven't added any cardio aside from daily walks with the dog. I'm down like 5lbs since I started fasting. I'm still eating at a deficit in combination.

I still need to read more about the topic though as I'm sure I'm making mistakes.

Ive been doing a 16-8 split since april. Managed to lose 18lbs of body fat and gain a bit of strength whilst doing it, you can see a bit more detail on the training in my log but not much on the diet. Which reminds me I need to do some noodz to see if it was worth the effort

Hi,

I have been doing IF for a couple of weeks. Overall I am feeling good and it has helped me to stop binge eating. I feel stronger at the Gym too.

I am interested to know if any of you have experimented any changes on your mental game. I have read the effect that ketones have on the brain and in the decision-making process. Have you experimented any changes while playing on ketosis?

Ketosis and IF aren't necessarily a given - are you low carbing?

Agree w/ Aidan; I have IF'd for the last 2+ years and have never been low carb enough to go on ketosis afaik.

Yes I have been doing Paleo for the last three months, though I thought after 12 hours without eating your body goes on ketosis automatically but I may be wrong.

I have heard the boost that ketons provide to the brain functionality. I also found this article very interesting where they show that hunger improves strategic decision making:

http://journals.plos.org/plosone/art...l.pone.0111081

During my IF, I was eating 2,5k calories right after the gym in a 4 hour time frame. I felt asleep for the next 5 hours or so, being unable to play during those hours.

I am thinking about doing two big meals after finishing my poker session and right before going to sleep. I am curious about how that could affect my mental game while playing given the hypothesis that being hungry improves our decisions.
