No, although the wife says I snore a lot worse now
I think it's the dog, tbh.
Anytime I jump up in weight rather quickly, to the tune of 10lbs+, there seems to be a couple week week adjustment period where tying my shoes or walking up the stairs is pretty winding, lol. But the body seems to adjust nicely and all is right with the world after that.
I don't think any of my injuries are a result of my gains. I've had plenty of injuries, but I push my body pretty hard and throwing heavy things around is pretty taxing anyway. Small price to pay though, really. Knock on wood, this off season has gone pretty well so far.
Yea, I do think that my speed explosiveness has increased with my size and strength gain. The reasoning could be far more complicated than, "I got stronger so I'm faster now", though. It could very well be that I learned how to apply the power better, or I came close to perfecting the thousands of reps that it takes to learn something like that. More than likely, it's a combination of everything.
This season will be the true test though, because I know somewhere there will be a point of diminishing returns where I'm bigger and stronger, but not as quick and powerful. I competed last season and the season before at around 275lbs, which worked out really great and I had some good throws despite fighting injuries. So if I do a couple competitions at 300lbs+, and I find that I'm too slow or unable to apply the strength like I need to, I'll just drop back down to 275lbs. My mind will have the toughest time with that though, lol.
