I couldn't hear anything out of one of my ears for a while so finally I made an appointment. I had the equivilent of a skittle blocking each of my eardrums in wax. It was a little painful but I got both ears cleaned out. Now I feel like a superhero. I hear everything and its loud as hell. Well spent 20$ copay imo.

Almost all people who clean out ears will tell you Qtips are of the devil.

one of the best feelings of my life was getting my hands on q-tips after a few months of not cleaning my ears. i clean them all the time. i have awesome hearing and there is no disgusting gunk in my ears.

people who hate on q-tips are dumb and have filthy ears. it'd be like a dentist saying "don't brush your teeth or floss"

Qtips can cause all sorts of ear problems. That being said I'd almost take Q-tipping over masturbating.

Anyone ever use one of these? You can really get in there deep, and the contour makes for a great scooper.

every person that I know who has ever had clogged ears did not use q-tips. these people have to go once a year to have some doctor clean their ears for them. I have used q-tips my entire life and have never had clogged ears. when i was in boot camp for 2 months I wasnt allowed to use qtips so my ears filled up with wax and it was gross. i once had a doctor tell me to stop using q-tips because it pushes the wax into the ear canal and causes clogs but im like "listen B i have never had clogged ears so what you lerned in medical school was wrong"

use q-tips and you wont have clogged ears

Yup, I'm in full support of this and against the Full Employment for Doctors Act that says to never put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear.

Also a tip -- clean your ears after you come out of the shower. The wax and gunk will be a lot softer and easier to get out. Plus try to drag stuff out rather than jamming the q-tip (or other digger) on top of your gunk and shoving it in. Be more like Lisa than Homer and you should be fine, just like virtually everyone else who cleans his ears always has been and always will be.

I just went to the dentist a while ago and he was telling me the new standard was to come to the dentist every 3 or 4 months even if your mouth is in really good shape. Thanks but no thanks, buddy.

I have a theory if you sleep with earplugs it helps keep your ears clean too. I used to have nasty ear wax. I few years ago I started sleeping with earplugs, I think I had loud neighbors or something. After I started doing that I never have any wax on the tip when I clean.
