What should I be paying a personal trainer hourly. What is standard and what do the top notch trainers get?

With or without sex?

$30 for standard I am guessing. Who knows what top trainers get. The actual top ones or the ones who get paid the most? I am sure some celeb trainers get hundred of dollars an hour. Other ones who are top of their field I am guessing like $60-$100.

Warning: this post is essentially pulled out of my ass since I am not american and have no idea what the prices are.

The guys at my gym are paid $80 per. They're grossly overpaid.

I think here in Kentucky it's like 50 an hour.

Sample size = 1 alert. And nyc.

My trainer friend gets $75/hr at the gyme he works at, and charges between $100 and $160/hr for personal clients.

Depression pricing, Imo.

OP, what you should be paying depends on what you're receiving and how much it's worth it to you. For ex, I might pay a good amount for an assessment, OL coaching, and manual therapy. I wouldn't pay even $5 for 95% of the trainers I see in my gyme.

Me either. They kept on trying to give me a free hour when I signed up at 24 hour fitness and I kept telling them no every time they phoned.

I would allow them to train me. Though I would ask them to spot me, load/unload the bar... okay... I want a slave, not a trainer. ++ for big tits.

Move to Thailand, Thremp... A mate just got back, he stayed in a few different hotels and said that in all their gyms, they have a number of guys who just walk around un/loading bars, spotting and putting plates away.

...maybe just be careful if you request a female... even with big tits... looks can be deceiving in Thailand imo.

fwiw I'm in Brisbane, Australia... I've seen PTs charging anywhere from $25 to $80/hr at different gyms and random boot-camp type things.

From what I've heard no one bangs a dude without wanting to bang a dude. But I could really care less as long as they don't talk. You could put some sweet tits on a board and parade them near me and I'll stare at them.

I think $60/hr is about standard.

Think there is confusion about what the gym charges and what the pt gets. I hear they get as low as 12/hr. I would ask about creds before price. ISSC, NASM, and NCSM are the most respected. I am going for NASM. I can give my reasons and the results of my research if you guys are interested in reading it.

Truth. LA Fitness charges people between $40 and $80/hr (depending on how long the contract is, etc.), and trainers get a flat $12/hr regardless of what the client is paying. So sick.

I would much rather pay an independent trainer $30/hr to scream at me to do crossfit stuff, because there's no other way I'd even attempt it.

I heard a membership and personal training from Rippetoe himself is like $30 a month lol.

Wow, even if that's one 30-minute session/month, that's a ****ing deal.

Well I am not sure how much coaching you get from Rippetoe and how much it costs but membership to his gym in Wichita Falls is definitely $30 a month and I don't think he has that many members and he's always there.

Its kinda sad I'd consider that among my serious pluses for living in Wichita Falls.

the bf is a pt, his rates range from 65-100/hr depending on the size package they buy. (Minnesota).

Considering what most personal trainers do, they charge ridiculous, outrageous rates tbh.

I'd say most are a negative value added service. Most promote unhealthy, useless, ******ed ideas that ultimately result in people being fatter/dumber and generally less awesome.
