More fun listening to USAnians talking about Euro beer like they even know what they're talking about. Or talking about "Euro" beer at all, lol. Way to show your ignorance.
PS: I've had two very awesome stouts here, among the best I've had. ON AVERAGE the stouts I've tasted (like 10, big sample size) have been fairly weak, and weaker than the average stouts I've had in Norway. Shrug.

That would probably mean adding 8-10 inches to my current vert, which doesn't seem like that much to me considering I've never done any jump training, my lifts aren't that impressive, and I still am carrying around a ton of fat, but the actual act itself of dunking at 5'10 still seems like it should be virtually impossible for someone without great natural athleticism, which is me.

8-10" on your vertical would be pretty insane but I wouldn't say it's impossible.

That's how I feel about it, anyway

Yeah this is well put.

I just take the caffeine when I wake up usually.
Do you experience anything like that?

I've been taking it for a while now, doubt it even helps anymore.
Caffeine works by itself too, I go through a lot of DDP. I'm not starving or anything when I wake up, but yea I'm a bit hungry. But as I mentioned, after passing that initial bout of hunger, I can go for a long time without eating. On most non-training days my IF window is like 20/4, so I'm probably not eating the first ~8-10 hours after waking up.

This is what I was thinking. I don't know why I haven't mustered the WIM to get after like I should, I have to find it somewhere. I'm going to lose the bet I made about 10 months ago since I doubt I'll increase my vert by ~6" over the next 2 months.
I would be interested in maybe starting a year long journey to add a half inch or so/month on average (would obv be faster in the beginning) and be able to dunk in a year.
Since it's 2012 1/2 exactly today (well by months, anyway) anyone wanna join me on a year long dunk journey?

Re: *** HAPPY BIRTHDAY USA #1 JULY LC THREAD***
if you're traveling around northern california and on average you're having weak stouts, then you're either wrong about everything in life or failing at selection.

Fresh beer > beer shipped overseas imo. I say this as someone with plenty of Heineken, Newcastle, Guiness and Grolsch in my fridge right now (I like many eurobeers), but you're missing a lot if you haven't found several USA#1 beers that are as good as or better than many of your eurobeer favorites imo.
Surly beer #1 imo. You won't find Surly very far west or the Mississippi River though. Should have come to MN imo

Re: *** HAPPY BIRTHDAY USA #1 JULY LC THREAD***
Well, some of them have been bought in your average restaurant/bar so shouldn't expect too much there. To be fair, you wouldn't get stouts at all on tap in lol Norway in most restaurants/bars. Two stouts I had yesterday were bought at brewery bars in SF, was surprised they were average at best. Stouts from Great Divide in Denver and Mammoth Lakes confirmed GOAT though.

Oh I've found a lot of awesome beers, no worries. Like I said in post above, two super good stouts that are among the best I've had. Tons of good IPAs. I'm very jelly of anyone who has regular access to Pliney the Elder from Russian River e.g. On average access to good/great beer is way, way, way better in the US than most Euro countries. Probably only Belgium and England that could compete.

great divide's is great. My favorite is Old Rasputin from North Coast Brewery, which you werne't too far from and perhaps passed through from Napa to SF. It's in mendocino.

Re: *** HAPPY BIRTHDAY USA #1 JULY LC THREAD***
I tried that 395 IPA last night and it was super unique. Hard to explain. Decently hoppy but a really mellow and smooth finish that I don't usually get from an IPA. It sorta lacked a bite maybe? I'm not very good at explaining what I taste in beer.
Pål seemed to like the Oatmeal Stout, I know I liked the Double Nut Brown porter or whatever it was.
I've def developed a much better beer palate, it's taken F long enough.
I still love brown/red ales the most, tho
ETA: I also liked the Sierra Nevada Hoptimum which I probably wouldn't have been able to drink a couple years ago. I'd prob have one right now if I wasn't going to drag my gf to play basketball with me in a bit

Re: *** HAPPY BIRTHDAY USA #1 JULY LC THREAD***
belgium and england obv can't compete, fwiw. especially lol england.
belgium has some sick high quality stuff, but I haven't heard much about them having crazy variety. USA#1 actually makes some incredibly high quality belgian brews, but they're mostly on the east coast (ommegang and allagash).
