Re: *** H&F Form Check Thread ***

Cross posted from my log, feel free to comment on the squats there.

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/85...6/index40.html

This video is my set 3 of 225. Stop by the 1 min. mark of video. I know it is not good, it didn't feel good. What are the main things I need to work on? Are there other exercises I could be doing that would help my squat form improve?

This clip is my 2nd set of 225. Also not good.

Reduce the weight by at least 20 lbs. and focus on keeping the knees jammed out and your chest up. That tapered belt you have isn't good for much else but showing your underwear to the world.

Mal,

looks like you're still shoving your ass back LBBS style. That's not necessary or desirable for HBBS. Just drop straight down, no ass back. FWIW I prefer thumbs around on HBBS, not a biggie though.

Foot placement and angles look all right? Bar placement on back good too?

Re: *** H&F Form Check Thread ***

Soulman's post has me confused. If you are trying to do HBBS, then just about everything is wrong.

They look fine to me as a LBBS, though perhaps lacking some depth.

Widen your stance by like 4-6 inches. Foot angle looks perfect but clearly your knees are not tracking it.

I'm working on Texas Method as an intermediate. I can't olympic lift, bench press or overhead press without agitation of a healing thumb sprain. Decline DB bench has been workable and I still squat, deadlift, chin, row. What alterations to programming should I be considering? My assistance work has been non-existant up to this point

squat form check

240x5 set 1, side
240x5 set 2, side
240x5 set 3, back

i notice i'm losing lower back extension at this weight. it felt like if i tried to arch my back the weight would lose a lot of support, whatever that indicates. anything else to note?

Re: *** H&F Form Check Thread ***

Can you guys let me know how my squats are looking? What can I improve upon?

set 1 (side) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxUTGWmJqis
set 2 (behind) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KizeuwBhLsA
set 3 (45 degrees) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g717Ps4kvtw

Apologize if quality isn't the greatest, thanks in advance.

Re: *** H&F Form Check Thread ***

Hey guys, i finally got some weightlifting shoes, so I would love for some form checks on my squats! 3 sets of 250x5 from different angles

First set from left angle (the fifth rep was very odd-looking)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYUKK7yleDM

Second set from behind angle
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r67T0O1WfWQ

Third set from 45 degree angle
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHHbXE6kOps&NR=1

Any help is greatly appreciated! I do make some noise during the 2nd and 3rd sets, just as a heads up

terrible camera angles.

the weight is too low for you to show any glaring things. your hips don't seem to shoot first, but i have no confidence that it wouldn't be a problem when you move up. your back doesn't really look tight at the first rep. in fact your first rep seems to have a different setup than the rest of them. you can probably re-read the chest up cue in the SS book.

also your lumbar looks like it might be rounded on some reps, but that could be the weird camera angle.

also, why do you stop some reps without a lockout???

nice decent though.
