Looks pretty good, but it seems you have little/no leg drive. Always hard to tell, but in the front vid you can see there is little/no movement in your legs - leg drive will usually be spotted by a tension, legs shaking a little bit etc. And you can prob do with pressing a bit more backwards in order to be perpendicular with your chest.

Pendlay Rows chex:
Set 3 of 155x5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4tWRgbg6dY

The bar doesn't hit my legs on any of the reps. I think if I get my back more vertical then the bar path will be more straight. There's no how-to video for them though, so I don't know any cues.

AB just posted this in the Beginner's questions thread:

http://stronglifts.com/how-to-perfor...ect-technique/

Make sure your lumbar spine is in extension, it looks rounded in the video. Also I have found that a really wide stance gets me in a really balanced position to pull from.

Something like heels 4 inches from the plate and toes turned outward to be around 1 inch from the plates. I feel that gets one's legs out of the way of the pull so you're not having to go around them.

From there grab the bar and drop your ass til you have a flat back, and are balanced such that pulling won't make you fall forward or lean backward. Then it's a matter of pulling hard, flexing thoracic spine and squeezing shoulder blades together so at the top position your back feels similarly to how you feel all locked up to support the bar for a squat. Then use your back muscles rather than your arms to lower the weight, I find a cue of 'unsqueezing' my shoulder blades helps me do this.

^^ Good post.

I think you need to drop the weight a bit DW.

Angle is very weird and can't see your feet etc. Looks ok though. Hard to give more details without better vid.

Its more a break at the knees and shove them forward with weight on heels than sit back.

taylor swift=a+ pump up music haha.

they don't look bad. what the 2 above said. u could also prob have just a smidge narrower stance but maybe that's just personal preference.

Help me learn how to do cleans!

Here is what I did tonight:

Clean 175x2

It's about 90% of my 1RM, I figured it would be better to work on form at 90% instead of 100%.

HALP!

good point. I hope trying to learn these isn't counterproductive, since I'm still having issues with my lbbs form.

Yeah, I wear headphones, so its a little weird hearing the music in my form videos.

Thanks everyone for the input.

1st rep:
looks like there is still just a littttle bit of premature arm bend in your right (can't see the left but it's prob more likely to occur in the right if you are right handed anyway). you also jump back when you catch the bar here

i'm not an expert at diagnosing what causes what in these lifts but my take is that you are just leaning back slightly too much trying to get more hip extension so u get away from being on top of the bar during your 2nd pull which causes it go backwards a little and then-->jumping back to catch it. it still looks reasonably smooth overall tho.

2nd rep:
def better than the first. i still think there is just the slightest bit of premature arm bend. make sure you are really rotating your elbows out. i think your first pull is better in this rep than the first tho. u stay more over the bar which results in not going back as far w the catch. u still go back a few inches but obv not nearly as noticeable as the first and it looks good.

evoken and n82 both seem really good w mechanics so maybe they will chime in here as to what causes what exactly. one cue i used to hear a lot was to try and drive through the platform with your heels as u pull which can help negate that backward foot movement.

Deadlift 280

Still working on getting back in extension. Work in progress.

Edit: I lower my hips to help achieve that position until it comes more naturally to me.

Question about the PC.........should the start position be similar to the starting position of the DL or the nadir of a squat, or something different from both?

315x5

so I filmed again today. Took a glance at the mirror to see if my ass was low then proceeded to raise it up every rep. Sick of resetting I just need to figure out how to get my legs more involved. I probably rushed these too.

Khalyn,

any reason why you set up so low with your ass instead of following a more Rip-like setup?
