I'm fat as **** and have no interest in working out but this thread is gold. Why do I always have to go to the 2nd page in health and fitness to find this masterpiece? Can you just sticky it?

Maybe you should try even lifting so the movement of the mouse doesn't fatigue your mental and physical state.

Just frustrating. You go to the gym, need the squat rack and find this dude. He did 5 circuits of three exercises. Here are the first two exercises of the circuit. The third one was Bosu ball DB bench.

Yeah, it's only acceptable for someone to use a rack or a bench to do that last exercise if they're a hot chick in yoga pants. Fat guys, not even once

while we are on the subject of not racking dumbells... i think it's more irritating when someone racks a weight but in the complete wrong place! quite often i go to pick up two weights which i assume are the weight listed but find myself with one thats heavier than the other... then the search begins for the missing weight

i'd rather the ****ers just leave them laying around on the floor /rant

Obviously you haven't seen the physique on most of the top computer gamers in the world who can go a million mouse clicks without so much as a bathroom break.

Had to tell a guy to not place his pair of DB's onto an other pair of DB's on the rack. Gave him the notice that whenever he has a pair, there will be two free spots where he should place those, instead of blocking the already placed weights...

Mind blowing revelation for a bro... I bet he staggered back and had to gather himself for a moment.

But if someone put the 20's in the 25 spot, then his 25 spot isn't free.

DUH

^^Rest assured, nobody ever uses the correct spots to put their weights on, not even the employees, when they clean up before closing at night.
I often go there during the last hour (often help reracking between my sets), or when they open doors in the early morning to avoid the bro rush-hours, but the real order of DB's on the rack seems to be as likely as a solved Rubik's Cube in the hand of a chimpanzee.
That's a good thing, though, since the heavy weights would normally belong on the lower rack, but are always to be found on the higher one. Much more useful like this.

I wish my gym would realize this and actually set them up like that...one night when I'm there late and it's deserted, I should try swapping the top/bottom row and see how long it lasts. (Most likely some tiny chick will complain about having to reach down to get her 15s, and they'll put it back the next day.)

Last week I was convinced someone used an RNG to rack the DBs. There weren't two same next to each other in a row of 40.

you guys ever thought of going to a gym where the main clientele aren't neanderthals?

Nah, it's good to have aspirational peers.

Been there, so many gyms I used to go to this was the case. The one I go to now, no one leaves **** lying around unless they are new there, and if they do the staff come and politely tell them to put their damn weights away when they are finished. Ah its so good to come to empty bars everytime you want to use a rack.

Ok, so, I would never leave weight on a bar ( except in one gym where it's convention to leave a 20kg on either side of the bar on the deadlift platform, seems no one ever cleans except me) but question, in my manila gym, the weight racks near the squat racks are really awkward to use, really close to the wall.

I've got into the habit of racking 90% of the weights but leaving a couple of 45lb plates neatly leaning against the side of the squat rack where they are much easier to access...

Thoughts? am I being a douche?

If you mean literally leaning against the squat rack, then idk, but I think it's fine to leave couple of 45s next to squat rack in that case.

Right, it basically comes down to whether the staff gives a ****. I go to a 24hr place where the owner's been known to watch 3am security footage of a guy leaving his weights out, just so he knows who to yell at the next time he sees him.

Even though it's kind of a DYEL-oriented gym, the guy's actually great...I've seen him go up to the dudes that are slamming down their 135 DLs for no reason and tell them to knock it off, while letting it slide when someone's legitimately DLing heavy and making an effort to control it on the way down (even though it's probably louder when it does hit the ground). He's like the anti-douche.

This morning I was in the gym with a total of 3 other people, 2 of which were doing cardio. The only other guy in the free-weight part of the gym goes to the fixed-weight-EZ-curl-bar-rack, takes one out, puts it on the floor in the middle of the free-weight area with his towel over it, and then walks away to go do a random cable machine for 10 minutes.

After he came back he actually used it to curl 5 reps, put it back on the ground in the middle of the room (incl. towel), and went back to the cable machine. I'm not sure why I gave off the vibe that I would take that specific bar and run off with it, but that's the only rational reason I can think of.
