Re: General Gym Observations
I failed a squat yesterday and dumped the bar behind me. A guy walks up to me and asks me if Im an olytard, I say no. He then asks me if I train seriously and I tell him I try to do my best but I dont compete or anything. He then says that it looks like I train seriously then he walks away to another part of the gym and dosent say anything else during the hour we both spend at the gym.
Pretty strange imo

Re: General Gym Observations
Went to my college's gym for the first time today. Saw 1 squat rack and 2 smith machines. Was sad.
Then I saw a dude doing trap bar deadlifts and was like WTF NO WAY!!!
So I'm going to do trap bar deadlifts for the first time tomorrow. So excited.

Re: General Gym Observations
How the **** do the smith machines outnumber the squat racks, but there's a trap bar?

Re: General Gym Observations
I don't think trap bars are that "exotic"

Re: General Gym Observations
My GGO - Because it's January and I belong to a cheap 24/7 'gym', it's going to be packed for the next couple months, which means the one and only rack will be taken up by idiots doing barbell curls, quarter squats, rows, ab work, half bench presses, etc. Which almost means I have to do another partial warm up in between exercises.

Re: General Gym Observations
Gym I go to only has 1 smith machine and 6 squat racks (of which 1 is a power rack and one power rack with mono lift attachment). Unfortunately my boss only uses dumbbells, hammer machines and the smith machine.

A text I got today:
"I decided arm machines are a waste at the gym. Free weights only from now on. "
Followed by
"I know I know. I feel like the machines just move the chub around but don't get rid of it "
and then
"But I don't want giant muscley arms!"
...clearly it's a female and I've had numerous discussions with her about gym work, and after this I finally said whatever do whatever you want youre not gonna listen anyways... I did give her some general information ss style but she then said well she wants to be a runner and when I asked what program or whatever is she following to improve that she said "yes" ... I stopped responding at that point and this is a good friend of mine
