Re: General Gym Observations

WW - just make it one of your goals to do it more outside. Maybe you'll end up being an "athletic freak" .

I have a lot of trouble pacing myself too (on treadmill, in a pickup basketball game, running outside, eating lunch, lol) and I think it will get easier the more familiar you are with different trails and do it more frequently. Practice makes competence.

I'm mainly so fired up simply b/c those pictures are so awesome. It's not like you're running around a trailer park :P.

HIIT on a trail (or anything on a trail obv) is going to feel a lot different than HIIT on a treadmill, so just listen to how you feel and how beat you are rather than the time you record for each sprint or w/e.

I think some minor skin issues have improved since I started taking more fish oil. I know it helps with a lot of things. I have no idea if lungs are one of them or not.

Nice pics - do you live near the Dells?

Well that's a pretty hardcore trail, but in general, it's not a big deal. And there's no need to be concerned with times or miles, unless you're training specifically for something (in which case you wouldn't be on a treadmill). All that matters is you do a little work, and that you progress over time. So maybe a one mile loop on that trail takes 15 mins and is hard as hell. Who cares?

there is only one reason to stay indoors and stare straight ahead for a cardio workout, and she better have the best ass and legs on the stair stepper infront directly infront of you.

For people that like water better this is about 45min-1hr away depending on where you want to go in at.

Sometimes they have to shut this part down to rafting/kayaking because it's not safe.

Could it be that running outside is harder (wind, hills, etc) so you actually run slower than you would on the treadmill?

Trail running is insane hard. If I was some insane athletic freak I could see where trail running would be the nuts though.......
Trail running isn't really any harder than anything else if you build endurance for it... ya know?

I loved running in Garden of the Gods, but I always felt that the trails at Palmer Park were more difficult (if I didn't want to straight run up mountains).
The Columbine trail on Cheyenne (behind the humming bird place) was my ****, though. I loved that mountain so much.

I miss Colorado

(last one isn't mine)
Sorry about the picture spam. I hate where I live now because hiking isn't that easy to get to.

doesn't matter, mark rippletoe didn't talk about front squats, other people aren't special snowflakes so they shouldn't do it, it would be a clear case of fancy play sydnrome.

Is it because he wants to save his posterior chain for throwing stuff around?

Why would you ask the biggest troll of this forum a serious question?
