Maybe, but I saw her doing toe-raises on a leg press machine later.

Would be a fun way to search for other H&F'rs

Thoughts?
What is this twitter thing?

On my third set of a 3x5 day and as im finishing the 4th rep a dude who looked questionably gay in a tucked in workout shirt approaches from behind and begins to prepare to help me if I need it.

I debate my options on the way up and decide to shout while holding the weight before the last rep, "ITS OK I DONT NEED HELP" and thankfully he got the f out of dodge.

Crisis averted.

Yup, it was on a squat, and I had bars setup. I wasn't showing signs of failing either. Awkward.

Yeah, I've had that happen so many times. It is probably the thing that tilts me most in gym.

I swore to Rip that the next time it happens I would just dump the bar backwards and watch him try and catch 300lbs falling... hasn't happened again. Rip the messiah to the rescue again imo.

One weak-fat aspiring bro talking to another:

1: You notice that we do legs 1 day per week, but upper body stuff 3 days?
2: Yeah, but we do abs every day.
1: Oh, true.

Not that I really have room to talk ...

Also, for our juicing/no discussion. Saw a ~50 yo 190ish lb guy who was JACKED. <10% BF for sure. All I could think is "I know what yooooou did" lol

I feel like 50 is a good age to start juicing.

Yeah, I would think that at that point the benefits in terms of quality of life probably outweigh the risks for anyone looking to maintain an active lifestyle. Also, I'm pretty sure it's hella easy to get legally prescribed pretty much whatever you want at that age.

I have a family friend who's on this exact protocol. He's a surgeon that got disillusioned with medicine years ago and now he is living it up in the best shape of his life.

His latest professional foray was helping draft Obamacare (in one form or another). It took him about two weeks to get disillusioned. "All these *********** care about is getting reelected."

Also this.

I am most certainly looking forward to spending my late middle-age geared up. Be in comparatively awesome shape with seven figures in the bank while horny as a teenager? Sign me up.

Think I'll have to move to USA#1 to get legal gear when I get 50, Browegian docs are stingy as hell with the good stuff

I am allowed to post a tl:dr? It's foreign gym related.

So I have a dilemma. I live in a foreign country, and have for the past year. A peninsular, Asian country if it matters, and it sort of does, since foreigners here are sometimes loathed (for pretty legitimate reasons, often), and I've so far managed to represent myself as one of the good ones. I feel awkward around other foreigners I don't already know or have been introduced to; I feel slightly implicated by the way they are perceived, as if their actions and being reflected my own, and I don't like to have that imposed on me. It makes me feel uncomfortably aware of being an outsider. Plus then there is the feeling of not really knowing this dude (or dudette) and yet still being expected to be friends with them; the natives (in my mind) group all foreigners together, and thus we are expected to arrive at friendship without basis or vetting; an arranged friendship. I am promised to a person I know nothing about (no h***). It kind of sucks and makes me feel unpleasant and awkward and socially a bit off.

So anyway, this is going in a predictable direction; for the first seven months, I was the only foreigner at my gym, and now I am not. There is a dude, a shoulder-length haired dude, perpetually blue-steel faced. We have not spoken and I decided he looks dumb and I don't really like him. We both tend to wear headphones (relatively rare here, amateur anthropologists may like to note), and while I've left them out for an appropriately long period and attempted “sup, bro?” eye-contact on a few occasions, the dude has ignored me. Am I being weird or is he being weird? I don't really want to talk to him or anything, I would rather just ignore him like I do most other people there, but the awkwardness is unpleasant. Today it annoyed me to the point that I felt something new, a kind of abstract but robust and kind of warming anger focused on this equally abstract personage, and so I was pretty much crushing it. (Again, this may be trending kind of gay, but I like ladies, yo.) He also seems a bit clueless, and scuttles off to the arm curl machine first thing and does multiple, separate runs of crunches, and other stupid stuff. So I don't know. What's my social obligation here? Am I being asburgersy? So I just back-hand slap him cheerily on the shoulder and offer a sup-bro? Should I do nothing until a situation presents itself? Am I allowed to ignore him indefinitely?

It should also be noted that he likely works for an outfit that likely attempted an incredibly petty and bizarre bit of corporate espionage against my own, and I'm pretty sure our bosses/owners despise each other, and my boss talks **** about them all the time (though never about the employees), and so it's possible some of that is trickling down (as paranoid as it sounds, I wouldn't be surprised if I've been personally and basislessly impugned by the owner of the other place). The market here is outlandishly petty and competitive. ****s a bit ****ed up, basically. So, what do?
