Haha... that is classic,

I can't stand it when half the time I go to the gym and the squat racks are takin up by guys doing heavy cheat curls.

Frickin ridiculous

People who do anything but squats in the squat rack usually piss me off. Even when people DL in the squat rack I wanna tell them to GTFO... you can DL anywhere and there's only 1 damn squat rack at my gym :\

thank god no one does legs there

imo the squat rack is fine for dl's, rows and overhead press. When you do your **** out in the open areas of the weight room people tend to get very close to you when they walk by, and that could be a serious injury if someone bumped your bar while you were deadlifting.

I agree with overhead press but generally rows can just be picked up from the floor...

I mean if I want to do squats and some asswipe is doing DL's inside the squat rack I'd wanna tell him to move... there's enough room in other places of the gym to DL (at least at my gym)

I think one trainer is 100% sure I'm a pussy.

Today the same guy who asked "Maxing out?" on my light day asks "You got a blister?" when I had tape on my hand. I replied: "No, I tore a callous."

Progressively loading up the leg press and then maxing it out by having a 3 inch ROM is the nuts. God I really want someone to get horribly disfigured on that machine one day.

same goes for bench/squat but you're right, most people love doing it on the leg press

I was doing DLs in the squat rack yesterday(1st time really lifting in gym). Granted there was 1 more rack and only 1 person used either after I finished my squats. No harm right? Oh and co-sign old dudes walking around nuts swinging. GROSS! They must be doing it on purpose but I have no idea why.

Heh today I'm doing bench and while resting glance at the power rack and there's some asian guy there, 5'8", maybe 180, 190 but I don't get a good look at him. He's got 3 45's on each side and he gets under the bar and I'm like "Oh this is gonna be amusing". Amazingly, he drops WAY down, maybe 1" from the ground and bounces there for like 5 seconds, and back up no problem and does 2-3 more reps same way @ 315. I was like

And wtf is with those ******ED shirts (beaters) that kids wear with the huge ripped hole under the armpits? They look so stupid. Some kid who couldn't have been more than 140 was wearing one that looked like a tabard. Ugh.

Forgot to mention the lady, with a trainer, doing STRETCHES in the squat rack holding the bar/rack for balance. A sight to behold.

anyone else notice that people that go to the gym, can't park worth ****? i mean most people can't, but the people at my gym are really really bad.

I feel like I've noticed the parking thing too, but I feel like it might be sample bias since the gym is one of the places I park at the most.

But also, there's lot of hippies because my gym has a rockwall and the hippies love the rockwall for some reason. Obv. hippies = bad drivers.

1) in any gym, there is always 1 water fountain that is freeezing cold and the rest are room temp/gross.

2) there is a middle aged dude at my gym who gets on the incline bench and does these endless 1/4 range "sit-ups." his torso starts perpendicular w/ the floor and moves forward a little bit, then back. i'll finish 5 sets on 1-2 exercises before he finishes ONE set of his horrendous sit-ups. he'll literally do hundreds of these things. he probably thinks he's a god b/c his scraggly ass can do so many "sit ups."

I think if you see people doing something worthless, dumb, or counter-productive (things like the fat guy chugging gatorade trying to work out.. im sure he would like to know), I think you could politely inform them. I don't get why you wouldn't, anyways.

Because it's the same as going to everyone in the gym who's doing something incorrectly with their form and telling them the correct way how to do it... you'll just look like that douchebag who seems to know everything.

Yup unsolicited advice in a gym is a bad idea in 99.9% of cases.

> Yea, we have a 45 year old legpress guy. He empties the entire plate station and loads up the leg-press until there are no 45s in that entire area. Then he does one set of super-partials, unloads all that weight and carries it back. I think he gets more stimulation from the walk than the leg press.

> Girl using the back-extension bench in reverse. So she was lying on her back facing up, then hyper-extending her thoracic spine down and popping back up. There's a less than .5% chance there was a good reason for that.

> Sweaty chode on the incline, not lifting, just yapping away loudly on his bluetooth. Enough said.

Having a blue tooth in the gym is enough of a reason. Fk him.

The bluetooth thing is a big mofo move at the gym...

On another note today reminded me of one other thing I hate about the gym is that guy who likes to fart and stinks up the place good. Some guy next to me (not sure which side) when I was doing my cardio farted about 4 times and they were pretty nasty. I was ready to be like, "please stop farting" but I wasn't sure if it was the guy on the left of me or the guy on the right.

I am halfway between sympathy for this and none. Sometimes you just can't help it. But on the otherhand, usually you get some warning and can walk a distance away and air things out.
