my gym has one squat rack, 1 flat bench press and 1 smith machine (and no power cage). fortunately, in the ~1 month i've been going, it happened only 2 times that someone wanted to work in his squat set with us (going with my brother, so often occupy squat rack up to an hour if i press afterwards). for bench press i never had to wait...
now, if i'd use to use the ez curl bar, that would be another story. always occupied. Bro's ftw

That's what I'd do too under the circumstances. There are several advantages to using DBs instead of a barbell for OHPs, including the fact they are a little easier on the shoulder joints.

So they can dump if they fail. I also frequently don't use collars for squats and other stuff too just because, well you don't need them. Yes it is quicker to change the weights too, as insignificant as that sounds. Clips are annoying.

Just think of the clips as free grip work.

You can also tie bowties to the barbell. Would only take like 10 seconds, so there's no reason to not do it.

That was similar to when I try to troll. I was assuming the bowtie reference was to a JonFon video of old or something where he collared up with bowties and squatted in a tux or something.

Which, actually, is a great idea for an actual troll. Go into your gym in a tux, use bowties instead of collars, and do heavy weights correctly. Perhaps loosening your tie when "it gets real hard."

Except it will also fail because people will think you're an idiot for hurting your knees by not doing knee-forward quarter squats and killing your back by deadlifting.

yeah curling somehow seems to work better with the troll theme... someone do this plz

edit: make sure to arrive in casual clothes and change into your tux too

1 million bonus points if after your set you go in to the locker room and tear off all your clothes in one swoop because it's all a stripper set.

lol @ tux / stripper - idea
but i'm disappointed, 1 month in the gym and i still have never seen quarter squats. not many people squat in the squat rack here, but when they do, their form is always at least ok-ish and they go around parallel.

speaking of quarter squats. closest I've ever been to approaching a non-noob in the gym about form today. alpha-bro is squatting with his two weaker, but taller friends.

warms up to 4-plate quarter squats, tip-toeing to unrack and rack the whole time. misses the left hook trying to rack his 405 and almost dies. CONVENIENTLY both of the friends were on the left side of the rack and were able to catch the bar and push it up. what is wrong with people.

This question is always relevant, and not necessarily limited to the gym.

I saw a skinny indian kid quarter squat 95x10 then later saw him practicing form in front if a mirror (knees straight, making sure to go slightly below 45 deg). Thought about milesdysoning, but I don't have the power level.

Pretty sure people in USA#1 are even more retarted than in Europe. Plus more bro-ish.

Nah its probably about the same. Scandanavia is probably pretty low on the bro count but the UK is full of them. Especially the large amounts of asians. They are so bro round here its unreal.

Well UK is basically USA#1 light so that makes sense. Plus ror asians obv.
