I think I would hit bar if there was a bar at that level on my leg. I pretty much sit on my ankles though

I'm 5'10" or maybe 10.5 and mine is around that level and I've never hit the bars. I think people overestimate how deep ATG really is.

Saw someone do an ATG pistol, and by that I mean they literally sat on the ground at the bottom of the rep like it was a box squat.

Lots of people can do that.

But did he get back up?

Nobody at my gym actually uses the foam roller to foam roll. One PT had a client doing db flyes on it. Another woman was doing squats (bw) while standing on it. There's probably a chick-ggo about some guy humping her squat roller.

Haha. I continue to see PTs roll the foam on top of client body-parts, even on hamstrings.

just when i thought i had seen it all, a girl was standing on a bosu doing 8 pound dumbbell curls, when a guy came up and asked her how many sets she had left. she pointed to another bosu ball that wasn't being used, and he replied that he thought it was too flat and he would rather wait for her to finish. of course he stands on it and does 40 pound barbell curls.

This is going on while my client is doing a metcon involving shouldering an 80 pound sandbag, then deadlifting a 70 pound kettlebell, walking about 10 yards to the sled, setting it down and dragging the sled back and forth, repeat etc.

i'm sure the bosu curlers thought we were crazy and lack core strength and stability

my client is a girl btw

what exactly is the point of doing an exercise like curls or squats on the bosu ball? Don't heavy squats build "core" strength better anyway?

i would definitely hit that bar high bar squatting. also, even if you typically have about an inch clear between the support and your bar, it isn't enough because you will have some reps where the bar isn't perfectly level.

I bring my own roller. But, I also do SMR in front of a rentable room that usually is for karate but on Sunday mornings is used by a Church group. They have a keyboardist and everything - lots of BBW up in that mother if you know what I'm sayin'. The walls in between are windows. Best part of my week is if I happen to get to the gym Sunday morning and am in between lifting days so I can spend a full hour plus. Obv God gets me so pumped up to work on soft muscle tissue.

maybe some of you got long necks or something. my gym has fixed safety bars that are definitely way too high and I'm 6'.

long necks help if you hold the bar on your skull.

it sucks when I leave my squatting hat at home.

wait what? how does the length of your neck matter for your squat depth?

edit: also 295lb is a huge head squat #. strong neck. nice lift.

gonna has very unorthodox ways to improve his vertical leap. Rumor has it he's been secretly working with Assani on it for years.

it was a tongue in cheek comment with regards to the correlation of height and squat depth and hitting the bar off the safety bars. hmm, how to describe what I was thinking.

bro #1: 6', short neck, goes atg but doesn't hit the safety bars at the bottom

bro #2: 6', long neck, goes atg but hits the safety bars at the bottom

and no I'm not drunk

People who are 6' don't have the same limb lengths, obv. Maybe longer neck is correlated with longer limbs and thus greater rom?
