Saw this the other day too. Boobs were bouncing and I was staring.

I could pick those things out of a lineup 25 years from now.

Not a gym observation, but a pool one. Family and I went to the community pool today. Was planning on going for 2-3 hours. Got cut short at 1.5 hours since someone pooped in the pool. This isn't a joke either, wish I brought my phone with me to take some pics. I thought they were joking when they blew the whistle to get out of the pool. Stayed around and verified it was poop when they fished it out with a net. I was grossed out, but thought whoever did it will be telling that tale for the rest of their lives and had a chuckle.

Guy standing in front of the mirror holding 30lb db's at the ends doing alternating 1/2 rom curls, but never going all the way down and in constant motion. As if he was pretending to juggle them. Did this for like a minute straight and looked super intense the entire time.

I'm guessing he is training to juggle heavy things.

Guy today was doing a DL-type exercise, except the bar was between his legs. Legit exercise, or lolbro?

Found an example. It was kind of like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGyzYIEwdWU Not sure why you'd do this over a more conventional DL.

Possibly dangerous indeed. Looks like a poor mans trap bar DL but with some potentially dangerous rotation thrown in.

Saw an overweight trainer today training what looked like a housewife with some medicine ball exercises. This guy looked like he hasn't been to the gym in years, beer gut and everything. Probably her hubby, but wtf would I know?

Has the standard to become a personal trainer become so low?

Theres a female trainer at the golds gym I go to who is 5"5ish and at least 210. Not just fat but crazy obese, and shes one of the head trainers with a lot of clients.

Dude with PT on the squat rack beside me. Dude is telling the PT about some guy he saw load up heaps of plates on the leg-press then do 1/4 ROM leg presses. Dude then does half squats. The loads 20 (literally) plates on the leg-press and does 1/4 ROM leg presses.

In other news...

Saw a PT who is small, couldn't be over 5'10 and while quite broad, I would wouldn't put him over 200-210lbs. Worked squats up to 4x190, ATG. I was like head=asplode.

It was like watching a highway accident with severed limbs in the road. She wasn't hot at all. I think everyone could only just wait for it to stop.

Why is their a requirement to be cut to be a personal trainer? Do you think Stan Van Gundy can play basketball? No reason some fat dude might not know more about personal training than some 23 year old bro with big guns.

yeah, fat personal trainers are probably on average better at their job than cut ones too (i presume fat personal trainers that have no idea what they're talking about would get very little business)

Why?

I'm guessing the reasoning is that the cut ones get clients just because of the way they look and can make money on turnover, but the fat ones don't have that luxury, and have to be able to produce results to keep the few clients they get. It would be interesting to see some data on this though.

Meh. I don't think there's a particularly strong correlation with either fatness or razor abs. Type of gym would prob be way more important e.g.
