He hovered hands around the bar the whole time and after I did my intended 3 reps fairly easy he started saying "All you! Keep going".

Saw a guy doing this today, a legit exercise? He had one of the short barbells (25 lbs?) and held it at shoulder height perpendicular to his body with one hand (like you would a javelin) and was sort of split-jerking it up over his head.

seems reasonable...ive heard of lots of exercises that are normally done with db done with barbells...

i think john berardi wrote about one handed barbell curls and something similar to a one handed barbell shoulder press...also seen kendrick farris do a one handed barbell snatch...

Last week a 23-year-old or so girl loaded a bar in the squat rack with a ten on each side. She then set an aerobics-type pad next to the rack. She looked be to be fit but didn't appear to be a lifter at all, at probably just slightly over 100 lbs.

I didn't care much as I didn't need the rack, but I was expecting the worst. Well, she used the pad to do around 25 real push-ups (from the toes, not the knees). She then supersetted that with 15 - 20 or so overhead ATG squats, for at least five sets.

Saw a woman jogging on the treadmill EXACTLY like the way Molly Shannon did in the Seinfeld episode where she didn't swing her arms at all. Even better, she upped the pace and started picking up her knees as if she were going over mini hurdles. My client and I stopped at least 3 times to stare at her. Couldn't help it. Everyone else was too.

Pretty impressive lift today. Kid is a regular at my college gym, and he is not huge, but is shredded and he is an MMA fighter. Anyways, he did turkish get-ups for sets of 2 on each arm with 100lb dbs.
