so you didnt ask them to move or anything right?--that would be too embarassing. you just waited and bottled up the anxiety and posted here. thanks for the good story.

for once i agree with Josh J. You really couldn't ask them to move the towel?

Can't most of the top super heavyweights hb squat like 800+ raw? I really hope he medals and breaks the snatch world record at some point in his career, even if he doesn't do it in 2012.

It'd be pretty tough to get the math to work without them doing it. Unless you're Pisarenko and allegedly clean 280 while recovering with weights > PR front sqat.

being the world record holder in the snatch is meaningless compared to being the world record holder in the C&J imo

Ironically I think the snatch is an infinitely more "athletic" movement than the CJ. The CJ is all about being **** you strong.

That Rip vid made me want to learn the snatch. Wonder how long it'll take to get passable form without a coach :/

I think it's possible that no one besides Pat has ever belt-less high-bar atg squatted 800 lb.

Is that like the saying no one might have DLed over 600 without straps or chalk?

I don't think that it is anything like saying that

do you know what athletic means? thats like saying juggling seven batons is an infinitely more athletic movement than the cj. you could say its more technical, or requires more dexterity, although neither to the degree of infinity. and of course when i say "you" i dont really mean you--i mean a reasonable human with a functional brain.

Entertain me. You were so successful before with your math skills. I'm interested in your possible definition of athleticism where the CJ is a more "athletic" movement than the snatch.

Tarentanko is a better basketball, handegg, soccer, tennis, and golf player than Kratev. Ergo the CJ is more athletic. Blah blah blah.

Today I will go to the gym. I wonder what combination of overhot HS girls, emaciated Euro dorks, and dirty old ******ed men will be there today. Alternately I obv could be training with a world class athlete without knowing or merely some guy who secretly has a 3.5xBW total. Who knows.

i didnt say the cj was more athletic. i implied that the snatch is not infinitely more athletic. is that what you and the band of clowns in this forum call "goalpost shifting"? how about you define athletic in a way that makes the snatch infinitely more athletic than the cj?

the thing was everyone "marked their turf" ... either by laying a full towel out or by putting weights on the bench (that they're not using).

it's like in Singapore when ppl claim tables at a food stall by tossing their little napkin packet out and then go queue up for food.

You're right I could've gone out and taken a bench but it would've led to a situation most likely. Will next time it happens and report here though.

Oh. Josh J got me. I used the word infinitely and any possible quantification lest a /0 would result in me being wrong. What a little trickster. I guess I could stipulate a flexibility/mobility component that is present in the full snatch and doesn't exist in the CJ as being "infinitely more" as one requires it to be completed but the other doesn't.

But HOW MUCH MOBILITY DOES JULIUS PEPPERS HAVE?!?!!?!

Thremp, if you stop talking about Josh J, and we stop talking about him, then he just disappears...
