People don't press because the can't move much weight and it makes them look like a pussy ldo. No rude jokes now

Re: General Gym Observations

In my gym there's this ab machine that looks similar to this:

There's a see-saw type thing with a pivot in the middle and a bit for stacking plates at either end. If you put the plates on one end it increases the resistance, and if you put them at the other end it decreases it and assists the exercise.

I've seen it used twice and both times the bro using it has loaded up to the max on both ends, not realising that they've just evened out the weight and are doing the same work they would have done if they'd just left it unloaded.

Every time I've asked to work in, the person either straight up forfeited the rack or was mysteriously gonna be done in one more set anyway. And I am not a big, strong, or intimidating guy in any way.

Haha, physics, how does it work??

Reminds of the lady who i see holding a 25lb plate in each hand and doing the oblique exercise where you lean to the side and then stand up straight. Obviously worthless if you're equally loaded.

Re: General Gym Observations

I totally forgot when making my post but seeing that oblique exercise physics fail yesterday was what reminded me to make that post. I tried to video the guy doing it but having to hold your phone totally vertical makes it too obvious. I'm sure it's already on the market somewhere but a little mirror that sticks on the back of your phone camera lens and redirects would be awesome for filming GGOs while making it look like you're just using your phone.

tell him "5 minutes" and if hes not gone in five send a 45 plate his way and tell him you better not see him in here at 5AM on a Monday again

This is especially important if your only weak point is hungry and sleepy.

Nice. I made a 25kg increase about 3 weeks ago and it made me feel like an animal. I didn't realize how much you can push yourself in that lift. You can add some major weight to the DL even if you already think you're lifting 100% of your 5 rep max. Just make sure your form is great before you do this. Looks to be if you're ripping up your shins like that. Aren't your bars smooth until about shoulder width?

Re: General Gym Observations

I caught myself moaning a bit too much as I was taking a piss in one of the urinals. It felt reallllly good, though! I usually pee at least once during my sessions. I didn't this time, so my bladder was very full... obv the release was just short of orgasmic.

Yeah I posted a form check recently and it was pretty solid so that gave me more confidence to add some weights. It felt natural lol, definately going for 110kg next time to see what's what.

The bar at my gym has a couple of brushed strokes on them for more grip, definately not smooth around the shins as u can see, lol. I've read about bleading shins before when it comes to deadlifting. Guess I just have to be a little bit more careful.

Tbh I don't care. If anything they are marks of being awesome.
