Re: General Gym Observations
There's a guy at my gym who's training regime and general behaviour is just bizarre.
For the past two weeks, each and every weekday that I've been in (Mon, Tues,Thurs, Fri in both weeks), he's done exactly the same thing. He spends ~50 mins on the shoulder press machine. He'll do a set of say, eight, then get up, stand approx 5 meters from the mirror and just stare at himself, flexing etc. Goes back to the shoulder press, rinse and repeat. Every day for 50 minutes. Then he goes back to changing rooms and spends another ten minutes in front of the mirror there, doing more flexing and stuff whilst he has his pwo shake. I'd say in the ~1hr that he spends on the gym premises, it must be a 50/50 split between shoulder press and time in front of the mirror. I can't believe some people's vanity, use your mirror at home ffs!

There's an insanely ripped guy at my gym (potential steroid user imo) who is covered in tattoos, wears the skimpiest wife beaters he can finds and puts on flex shows in the mirror.
Not only will he flex, but he'll flex then he will rotate his arm left and right in front of his body so he can see all the angles.
He also grunts INSANELY loud every time he does a pull up or any activity. I mean I don't mind grunting, but this guy borderline screams (in a guttural voice of course).
Then I saw him doing t-bar rows with a barbell instead of a t-bar, and he was pelvic thrusting into the bar on every rep and making these orgasmic grunts. It seriously looked like he was humping the barbell, and the noise just completed the effect. It was so hilarious I couldn't keep myself from laughing and from then on out every time he would walk by me in the gym and start flexing (which is like every minute he's not doing an activity) I'd burst out laughing. I had to start hiding my face cause I think he started to notice (and I don't want him to flatten me into a pancake LDO).

Re: General Gym Observations
Several things since I started going to the gym.
1) Yes, I realize that you just worked and had a shower. That does not mean you have to sit on the ****ing bench and rub your junk on the bench. Why you do this I have no clue.
2) The best times to go are between 5-7AM and 7-11PM, hot soccer moms and no roid monkeys or guidos
3) The ripped guy in the torn tshirt scares me, more so when I go to do bicep curls after him and see the weight racked for 200lbs.

Re: General Gym Observations
forgot to say, spotted some dude benching 275 the other day, he tells me "I'm gonna go for 3 reps, don't help unless I really need it". I ask him if he wants a lift-off, he shakes his head no.
It takes him all he's got to get the bar off the rack then he gets it about 2" off his chest on the 1st rep, I step in, no trouble at all getting the bar back up (frankly I was more worried b/c of karak's story where before I never would have even doubted my ability to help spot). He wasn't that weak though, took the 25's off and did 6 reps at 225, which is a lot more than I'm doing

lol that is nothing. i would be EXTREMELY surprised to see such a display of strength at my gym. the **** i deal with are dudes who wear belts to do bicep curls with 15 pound bars with 5 pounds on each end.

I am by no means a muscle man, and I was able to spot a guy benching 275ish a couple weeks ago with no issues.

why were you embarrased? you could legitatemly have been pissed. i remember the first time i ever spotted someone i was afraid i would accidentally kill him but did so without problem on a bench press of 225 pounds and i was extremely weak.

i dunno, if it really makes girls uncomfortable why do they without exception wear such tight fitting, and often revealing, clothes?

Re: General Gym Observations
how's this for terrible?- in my gym there are bicycles. there are 7 treadmills, but jogging on the treadmills is prohibited. (i asked why and the answer i got was "company politics" which was about as useless and vaccuous a thing as she could possibly have said)

Just was embarrassing to be floundering around on a bench and yelling as weights come crashing down around me. Haha.

b/c that's what women's fitness apparel is
no girl in great shape is going to go to the gym in baggy ass sweats and a huge t-shirt, just not going to happen, thank god for that
