5:30PM

DL
3x325, 2x355, 2x375, 1x405
5x325, 5x275, 10x225

Bench Press
5x155, 5x165, 5x175
3x8x135

Quick session. Had plenty left in the DL. Was dealing with some wrist pain in the bench, so I didn't want to go heavy.

Couldn't really estimate how much I drank since we were doing a bottle share and there were tons of small pours of high ABV stuff. *shrug* . At least I lifted before hand.

3/23

Day off from the gym since I felt like garbage. Nice breakfast imo. Supper was just a meat and cheese plate and I wasn't really paying attention to how much I ate, but I think it's a pretty good estimate.

BW this morning was 203.6, so down 1 lb since last week with not a great diet. Life is easy.

5PM

Snatch
5x1x155
5x1x165
5x1x175
185, 195, 205, 215, 220

+10# from last week

C&J
5x185
5x205
3x215
225, 235, 245, 255, 265, 275, 285

+30# from last week

:flex:

Snatches were all EMOM. Went with slightly longer rests once I got to the heavy C&Js.

Adding some pullups to yesterday's workout, also went for a ~3 mile walk after logging. Really trolling myself with these calories.

Pullups

11AM

HBBS
3x260, 3x285, 10x310

Used a medium sized Rogue fabric type belt, it flew off on my way up on the 3rd rep. That messed up my rhythm and I had to pause for a bit. Think I could've hit more had the belt stayed on.

OHP
3x135, 3x145, 6x155

Used wrist wraps.

Pull Up
5xBW+25, 4xBW+25, 3xBW+45, 3x1xBW+55

First set with 55 I was like 2 inches from a second rep. I can probably do 5xBW+45 when fresh.

At least the gainz are good when I consume all these calories.

With 18 hours turnaround from 20 snatches and 20 C&Js, do you not feel any effects on your squat or OHP?

Nope. I also had ~6 hours of sleep and the only calories I had before the workout was a protein shake + cup of coffee. So, actually today's workout was a bit of a surprise.

Definitely consumed more cals than this, especially since the mussels were cooked in some sort of wine-butter sauce. Honestly don't know how to log that since the only part of that I consumed would be small little tastes using the shell as a spoon.

Did a 4 or 5 mile hike to go check out some waterfalls. It wasn't the nicest day as we were driving through the clouds to get there and had to deal with some intermittent rain, but that meant the trails were empty and that's always nice. Had a poor food choice here of chips and salsa. That was a snack post hike when I was craving some carbs.

I usually just add a guesstimate amount of olive oil/butter/wine or whatever to my food log to attempt to capture something like that. Probably doesn't matter much either way.

When I dont know I honestly just stamp on some excessive cal amount, like 1500 for a meal when i know its prob like 1200 at most. If youre cutting its way easier to just vastly overestimate everything

The gym is packed every day. So packed that I can't even figure out where to put my phone so I can record video. Oly days are the only day that I'm lifting in the main room and the last 2 weeks there's been 5+ people in this tiny room. I just don't like taking video around all these randos. Didn't bother me at crossfits since I knew everyone :\

This is good. Went ahead and just added a half a stick of butter to that day since I know there's no way I consumed that much.

6PM

HBBS
3x285, 3x315, 2x345, 365, 385, 405
5x345

Squats are fairly easy. Last rep rep at 345 felt like a grinder.

Bench Press
5x185, 5x195, 6x205
3x8x145

Pendlay Row
5x185, 5x195, 5x205

Rows felt like complete AIDS. Triceps were worked a bit from bench and it messed with my pull a little bit .

I like this approach a lot, because youre purposefully making the worst case scenario breakeven towards your goals

Rode the bike for 3 miles after workout.

Had quite a few calories as there was a mini-celebration. Looks like I'm going to be moving to Seattle due to this interesting programming bootcamp my GF was accepted into that starts in August. So much for finally settling into my routine. Luckily there are all sorts of good jobs in Seattle, so life will be good. WIM.

Are you gonna move and get a new job because of a temporary bootcamp?

Short answer: yes.

It's a full year commitment which includes an internship. I could stick it out where I'm at, but I want to travel to new places and experience new things. Also, there are tons of great jobs in Seattle.

Let me know if you have any questions about Seattle. I moved here a couple of years ago. Pretty cool place if you like doing outdoorsy stuff.

Also, have you always been good at pull-ups? You have improved a drastic amount in a short period of time.

Thanks!

I know her program is right downtown (4th and Seneca) and it's highly likely that we'll only have 1 vehicle. I assume public transport is pretty decent, but are there any neighborhoods you'd recommend? We also have bikes and aren't afraid to use them. I've heard Capitol Hill is very accessible and close, but so far that's all I know. Any other websites you'd suggest outside of Craigslist for apartments? Definitely will have some more in-depth questions as I learn more.

Honestly, I've always sucked at pullups. I followed this progression for the first month: https://www.t-nation.com/training/ti...ull-up-program This took me from ~ 7 to 14 in a month. Now I'm basically trying to combine the program using the volume and weighted protocols. I think the 6 days per week really helps a ton with pullups since they aren't tough to recover from. Seems like my lats are getting bigger and pullups are getting easier.
